i am getting a mp100

i would just like to know if the racket is durable i mean can it survive moderate clashes i have read quite a lot of reviews most of which seem to be negative but i still want to buy the racket since the people who have broken there rackets have not mentioned the spec. if it is 3u it is more understanble cos they r less durable i duno guys wat shall i do plz help

could u also tell me i like the mp77 old u g3 would the power be same as the new version of mp 77 in 3u

I've broke 2 MP100 in doubles games.
They are both US version provided by Yonex Canada.
The first one I broke was my stupid mistake when I was playing MD.
I got it replaced with a CD version of MP100.
The second one I broke was a newbie's fault in MX.-_-||
and this time I did't get replace because I was afraid it will not come back.

Both crushes were just moderate. both are 3UG4 version.

MP100 is very easy to break. I'll suggest you to take Winex MM 100/200 instead, almost 1/2 the price, and fun!!!

i sorta agree with taka. thhe mp100 is a bit frgaile, but thats only if you string it pretty high. and as long as you buy from your region and still have a warrenty, you'll probably be fine. i've broken one mp100 in a rather light clash with a ti-7(old). we both had 3U's. my racket was at 24 pounds and his was at like 20? It broke at say 1-2 o clock. The ti-7 came out with out a scratch..... but i got it replaced :). So the moral of this story is get a warrenty from your region and figure out what they cover and what they don't.

My suggestion is, if u and ur partner tend to clash rackets relatively often, especially with newbies using heavy metal "beast", try not to use pricy racket like MP100 when team up with them.

Agree with above statements about clash "position" and "tension". These factors do have sig. effect to rackets. Generally, higher tension, will be more endanger a racket (not just clash, but also like hitting floor, hitting body, etc). Also, the spot where main meets cross (2, 4, 8,10, etc o'clock) could be extra "weak" ones.

fi you keep breaking rackets, just go with a diff brand. like i say gosen or winex. they're cheaper and pretty much the same quality, tho for some reason having a yonex gives me peace of mind.

Maybe and Maybe. and I think getting a 2U wouldn't make much difference.
You'll still break another MP100 as long as you play it.

I suggest you get a Yonex 62MF and restrung it.
it's cheaper solution.

get A wilson Racket they're much stronger and cheaper and as powerful. the hyper carbon are mean't to be the strongest rackets on the market

try to use ashaway racket.
Cheaper than yonex and reliable.

i use Ashaway Titanium Power TMP-700 Muscle.

and it's a 2U version, now I figure all three MP100 of mine were all 2UG3

besides tension, it also depend how good was the stringing job.
A player i've strung for had a CD 2U (24lbs) and still ok after 1.5 years, and he plays with all sort of players in MD.

Ouch! Looking at approx. CAD$200/each, that's $600.00 there :(

If you string the mp100 no more than the factory recommended max tension, then it should be all right and nothing would break, but i suppose the mp100 is easier to break because it is more stiffer than anything else(including mp99). If you clash, just make sure that you hit the other guys racquet, and not the other way around, because chances are the other guy's racquet will crack and yours won't.:p Since the mp100 is so stiff, doing net shots would also be a little more difficult until u adjust to it. You just have be smash happy if you get a mp100:D

A friend of mine has gone through EIGHT (8) MP100s... He plays pretty often during the week and does not string it above factory standard. Every time he has broken his racquet, he's returned it to Yonex Canada to have replaced since it is still under warranty. Yonex Canada has finally said that this 8th racquet will be the final one they send him. I can't blame them. :D

Unless you have an unlimited supply of cash, you should probably stick with something more durable and cheaper. It's hard to justify $250 CDN racquets. :)

i can't see how under normal usage can damage a mp100 so quick. If he has such power that could wreck a racket, he should consider joining our national MD team ;)
