well, is the AT700 suppose to be more expansive than the mp100?..and why shouldn't mp100 be more expansive than AT700? plz allow me to ask you why you think the AT700 should be more expansive than the mp100

SmashingBird does have a point that there is no rule saying that the MP100 should be more expensive than the AT700. true, the AT700 is newer than the MP100, but that doesn't imply that it should be more expensive.

and i still don't understand what you mean by surfing the web more, perhaps you can elaborate on what you mean as we must be missing something.. :)

yup..there are a lot of new models such as mp22,mp33,ect. all newer than mp100 but they are cheaper, newer doesn't mean is more expansive, i was just wondering why you thought the mp100 should be cheaper than the AT700:) because mp100 is probably one of the most expansive racquets around and to be even more expansive than that and from what I heard, the AT700 isn't a high high end racquet, didn't someone say that the At700 is just one of the first of the series and even higher AT models are coming out..if AT700 is even more expansive than mp100 than the price for the latter AT models would be unimagineable:rolleyes:

also, on the yonex japan website, doesn't it state the mp100 selling for 25,000 yen and AT700 at 22,000:rolleyes:

also may I add that a lot of people tend to think newer racquets are better racquets, I m a firm believer that new doesn't necessary mean is better, a lot of younger generation people tend to follow the new racquet trend and they just go and buy whatever racquet is new and most talked about without even knowing what it feels like

I guess the "confusion" is due to different region.

With various website I've been to, some sites sell AT700 more expensive than MP100, but some others are opposite. Could be the factors of availabilities and demands.

Plus, most of North America sites I've been to, they do have AT700 more expensive than MP100.

remember retailers can charge what they see fit.
right now the armortech series is in high demand and yonex can't fill all orders yet.
with shortage, some retailers with limited quantity of armortech supply may charge more. Some new model cars are like that too (miata, PT cruiser, prowler, etc)

Exactly what I was thinking, demand! The AT700 is going to be very common so they have to set a competitive price. With the MP100 being more rare, they can up it a lot because you may not have any other options if vendor X doesn't have it.

I raise the question coz most asian E-procurement sites posts AT700 more expensive than it's western counterpart. NOT because i feel AT700 have to be more expensive than MP100 because its new.

Anyway thanks to all the people who answered my Q.
