Hi, i got a 3u AT700 CD version at Whats Your Racket in calgary, and i asked for 25 lbs tension on it.

But when i got the racquet back the little reciet said 28lbs, which do you think is the right number? This i think is really high for AT700 and will the racquet break if it really is 28 lbs?

If it indeed is 28 lbs and i go back to restring it, will it already have done a considerable amount of damage to my racquet (thats what im really owried about) I've only had it about 3 days.

Thank you

Best to talk to the store that strung your racquet to see what tension they really put on your racquet. 28 lbs does seem really high and it could potentially add extra strain to the racquet that it will break easier. But in terms of permanent damage to your racquet, the longer a racquet is under a certain tension, the longer it will cause strain on the frame. I wouldn't call it damage since it seems to be holding at 28 lbs. Your racquet will likely break either during a game or while on the stringing machine... not while just sitting idle. :)

Other Yonex 3U rackets recommended stringing tension is 20lbs (max) but I do know of people who strung 3U "TH" rackets at 28lbs on a regular basis.

Armortec 700 3U recommended tension is 25lbs (max). So you know that you can string higher than that without it breaking/warping. My Armortec 700 is strung at 27x28 lbs regularly.

Really modious, that makes me feel a lot better lol, juss glad i aint the only person. Although it would be better if it was 25 just to play it safe. Pointfore has a really good point too though.

And to answer MusclePower100's question i got it for $256.50 because of the 10% discount for being a Badminton Alberta member, not sure if you are but the original price is 285

Thanks
