Which type do you prefer??

I personally think that towel grips provide less friction??

think tower grip has less friction, however once ur hand is sweety, its quite ok...
frequent replacement is required, otherwise it will become hard and it stink like hell

i like PU ones much better, slightly more expensive, but last longer...
the ones I use is Victor overwrap

The type of grip you use is totally about preference. I don't believe many people use Towel grips here in Ontario though from what I've seen. Some people don't even know they exist! :)

My personal preference is PU grips. The ones I use absorb plenty of perspiration and still have a good grip on them.

PU grips for me..however, i have tried towel grips and never got too accustomed to them because they make the handle just a little thicker than i like. To me, towel grips do haev a fair amount of friction at first when soaked under water..but after awhile, into a matchi, it'll be a little more dry and less grippy (therefore higher chance of it flying out of your hands).

I don't use towels as a grip coz for me it's

1. hard to my hands.
2. untidy, all those fibers standing around like an uncomed hair.
3. hard to clean compared to a PU just one wipe.
4. unsanitary, think of all the accumulated sweat that dried up in one handle.
worst part is it's not all yours... not to mention dead skin cells or flakes trapped between fibers
5. if kept uncheked too long fungus or mold (im not sure which but it's green)starts to grow.
6. the smell...

Errr... Should not read this one when I am eating lunch... :(

But, totally agree. List almost every single reason, I don't want to use towel grip. Plus, the size...

I've also used towel grips for a period of time but now I gone back to PU. The main reason is the cost of replacing the towel grips almost every three weeks. By the end of that time the towel grip would be hard and rough (and smelly as frictionman said). But if I had the means to replace towel grips regularly, I'd still prefer them to PU. I like the soft texture, the sweat absorption, and the non-slip grip feeling of towel grips.

I'm finding my grip extremely slippy in the current very hot conditions in the uk. Many may laugh as I am using just a Carlton TT900 (found they come as cheap as 35quid over here). (recently tempted to change but since I have been playing just a year may leave it a bit longer so I can be certain of what racquet will suit me).

However I love the grip this racquet arrived with. It certainly needs regripping now so if anyone can say where you can pickup replacements I'd be very happy to know.

I personally use towel grips since I make my own and can make about 30-40 pieces for just $4 so I can change about once to twice a week depending on how often I play. :)

hmm...

Pu grip for me is kind of suck...

i sweat so much to an extent where PU grip can't absorb anymore sweat in between a game and the grip is getting more watery as i sweat....

i guess that's why pros use towel grips
