You should have a look at the IBF calendar on worldbadminton.net (http://www.worldbadminton.net)

there are lots of upcoming WGP (US Open, Dutch, Danish, German Opens...)

Since olympic qualifications are at stake,
relatively small tournaments like the Dutch/German open get a record number of high entries.

On the other hand, there are also olympic qualifications at stake at the US Open, but that tournament does not have many topplayers. Why don't more people go to such tournaments, where it is relatively easy to reach a quarter final and obtain olympic nomination.?? Is it just because they care more about world ranking??

Let me hear your thoughts.. what is the best qualification strategy for sub-top players???

US Open is only a 1* WGP, so it gives less world ranking points...

I still believe a lot of national squads were wrong to do the asian three GP (Sg,Ina,Mas) rather than US Open...

In general, it's easier to gain points in America, Oceania or Africa, than in Europe or Asia...
