Hello Kwun. Hope you don't mind me asking, but how do you make money from looking at this forum all day? Do you some how work as well? Are you one of the few people who earn money from playing badminton? Or are you just rich. Sorry if it's to personal, i'm not asking how much money you have got, just how do you have time to earn any.Same question for Cheung also please.

I am not Kwun or Cheung but from all the postings done by all the moderators including Mag (the Gang of Three), this is just a hobby for them. No profit is involved other than what's spent on web-hosting, software (for the forum) and time. It's truly a labour of love for these folks.
Kwun works in the high-tech industry and our illustrious Cheung is a M.D. and I am not sure about Mag but he definitely works like most of us who hangs out on the forum. We all are bound by our love for the game(sports) of badminton.
I for one, am very thankful to these guys for doing such a wonderful job of keeping the forum sane (so many others have gotten into a state of flames, name calling, etc).
3 cheers for the Gang of Three. Hip, hip, horray x 3 :D :D :D
i lead a normal life just like everybody with a real life job in the silicon valley. not rich, but not counting pennies either. it may appear otherwise, but i only spend my spare time on BF. haha. ;) many ppl choose to spend their spare time pursuing their hobbies, for me, my hobby is badminton and running BC/BF.
i am honored to have two other moderators, Mag & Cheung, helping me out. they are just as passionate about badminton, and i believe may be even more passionate.
as for cost, BC/BF does cost money to run, and as BC/BF has been getting more and more popular, the cost is going up and up. however, with the recent donations and advertising, BC/BF is now breaking even so i am able to afford more software and get better servers. in a way, BC/BF is paying for itself. which is a big relief for me.
i just put in the basics in place, the real reason why BC/BF is successful is mainly due to the members who come visit and contribute their knowledge and views. i honestly believe that i learned more from the site than what i have put into it. on top of that, i have made numerous great friends from all over the world via BC/BF which i believe is priceless.
follow your passion, don't let money get in the way, don't let money lead the way, and leave the rest to fate.

The only profit I have gained in this forum is:
1) making friends with a common interest:)
2) sharing of our common knowledge and experiences in a mature fashion.
Being a moderater is only a tiny bit of this whole site and does not necessitate much praise. For me, being a moderator means I have to write things much more carefully to avoid upsetting people;)
If we really want to thank somebody, it all goes to Kwun for the setup and maintainence. He has had to try to maintain this site whilst working and playing badminton(it's a hard life playing badminton:))
What was once a hobby has grown so much now. It is truly amazing.
As for the future, the *vision* is for BC/BF to:
1) hope BC/BF can maintain its own costs financially, and,
2) be the *quality* badminton resource for all enthusiasts (and maybe the pros as well:D)
I'm really glad that some memebers have been generous enough to provide videos online or make DVD's of matches available. That, I think, has helped the exposure of this great sport.

Very thankful for this forum and grateful to our mighty moderators for keeping it civil. Also very grateful to those who contributed their experience and knowledge of the game to further the interest of the sport:). If it hadn't been for this forum, I would still be playing backyard baddy:D.

Of course, I learned a lot from this forum, and shared laugh and enjoyment with many exciting events. However, the thing amazed me the most is not the sport itself, but the ppl. Many many members care about each other, share valueable experience around, giving out wise advice / suggestions, encourage each other.
I truly feel like that I am in a big family, with many caring members around. Even though, I haven't seen most of the members face by face, but deep in my heart, the image of a "big family" is and will always be there. ;)
No doubt this is the best place for badminton players and fan to hang around and the best is yet to come in many years ahead.
Brovo Kwun, Cheung and Mag.
