let's throw in more names:

Han Aiping
Li Lingwei

should be way up there on the list as in their days, the two of them completely dominated the WS scene. (as well as WD when they partnered together)

who's before them? were there any dominating LS players before Han and Li?

I am kind of new to badminton so I don't know some of the early players:rolleyes: so my oppologies...only been in the "circuit" for one and a half years...

My preferred ladies players:

- Han Aiping;
- Yeh Zhaoying;
- Zhang Ailing;
- Bang Soo Hyun;
- Susi Susanti;
- Camilla Martin;
- Liu Xia;
- Lee Youngsuk;
- Liang ChouXia;
- Gong ZhiChao.

I heard about 1 lady that was dominant/undisputed in China, back in the 60's/70's. Her name is Chen Yuniang but unfortunatelly never seen her play.

None of you every saw the beautiful Lene Koppens of Denmark playing, grace, beauty and great legs.

ive seen Lene Køppen a lot of times in television or in a hall when she support her child Marie Røpke. Lene Køppen was just as great a player as Camilla is today ... by the way Marie Røpke her daughter is a very talented player only 15 or 16 years old.

Watched her playing and also Morten Frost back in 1981. Traveled to Guangzhou, China specifically to watch that friendly between China and Denmark. Too bad Lene lost to Zhang Ailing and Morten injured himseld during warm-up. But at least watched Morten in the prectice sessions with the Danish team.

Never knew Japan have 5 times all England Champ. Maybe i concentrate more in mens during those times. Only knew Susi Susanti and some the ladies during the 80's and 90's. Hiro Yuki.. when did she won All england?

She is in my list but spelt differently - Liang ChouXia. Guess what? I played against her in an exhibition mixed doubles game. At that time she was retired from Chinese team and before going to Indonesia. During the game the man stayed at the net and she returned everything I threw at her. It was not much different hitting against a wall.

Some older guys mentioned Chen Yuniang was a better player as Liang was never able to beat her. Not sure about this though.

Susi Susanti, Ye Zhao Ying and Gong Zhi Chao. These 3 woman hv the best skills ever, especially Ye. Dont think any woman singles nowadays can match them in terms of skills, not even Zhang Ning and XXF.

Susi Susanti!

Honourable mention to Camilla Martin the lone European crusader against Chinese domination in WS.

Lene Koppen was great it's just too bad we never knew how she would fare against the Chinese players as the Chinese wasn't part of IBF in her days.

Susi Susanti!

Grace under pressure, brilliant in mental warfare, remarkable endurance, heavenly-speedy footwork and sense of timing... compensated for her lack of power and shot variety...

Absolutely agree. Susi's footwork is the best even for now, Gong ZhiChao is the close 2nd.

She is good but not that good to compare with other chinese players(not the junior ones).I watched her playing mia audina during Indonesia Open 2005.I have to admit that she has good fighting spirit.

Wong Mew Choo still not that stable yet from the way she plays. I seen before. Sometimes create surprises only. Depends on her form. Compared to XXF, XXF is more stable because XXF wins regularly. When a player reach a certain standard, her game will be stable. This apply to every badminton player. WMC still needs to take another step higher. That's my own opinion. No hard feelings ya.

From my opinion here they are :

1. Susi Susanti
Her 'perfect' achievement in young age tell the truth how spectacular she is. Look at this fact below :

- All England title : 1990,1991,1993,1994 -- she became AE winner for the first time when she was 19 y.o, Susi born on 11 February 1971.
- World Champion title : 1993 Birmingham in age 22.
- Olympic Gold Medal : 1992 Barcelona when she was 21 years old.
- World Grand Prix title : 1990-1994,1996
- Many2 titles from IBF GP-series
- UBER Cup : 1994, 1996
*One-package prestigious title (World Champ + Olympic Gold + All England) is the hardest mission to do for every shuttler but Susi did it.

2. Li Lingwei and Han Aiping
Both Li and Han are the BEST WS players that China has produced so far compare than Ye Zhaoying/Gong Zhichao/ZN/XXF or others. Special credit : Li and Han are good WD too, so amazing and brilliant they can play in two categories singles and doubles!

i dont really appreciate you saying that you'd rather put in the other two chinese rather than pi and wong. afterall everybody has their own preferences. i dont mind you saying that the two chinese are better or anything but the way you said, " what? wong/pi also in? " is not very nice. im sorry if i have offended you in anyway but i think that i based my selection on videos i watched and my personal preference. ALSO, i watched zhang ning, xie xing fang, pi hong yan and wong mew choo live before and i think that wong is the most well tempered and she has the best sportswomenship amongst everbody.

another point to add in. sorry if i am being nosiy, irrelavant or extra or whatsoever here but i must say this. personally, i have met wong mew choo before and i think that she deserves to be in the top10 because even though she is the best in malaysia, she has no airs even when she just won the KL open and was equally friendly towards all of us as to her own friends. (i was there for training under her coach misbun sidek, and she was playing in the KL open at the same time)..

im sorry if i offended anyone in any way.
