Would it be safe to say that the Muscle Power 55 is now a collectors item?... it is not on the Yonex website anymore and Lee's has stoped selling it also. Can someone please clarify if it is...

(sorry if repost...i cant find it)

To me, MP55 was never been a high-end racket, and I don't see any values of collecting it.

It's like, you don't buy Toyota Corolla for the car collection; it's just not worth it.

besides, not available in Canada ususally doesn't mean much, i bet you will still be able to find the MP55 in Asia for at least a few more years. (eg. the Ti-10 is still widely available there)

Actually that's a bad example. A friend recently informed me that Toyota Corolla's (model "Trueno AE86" to be exact) in Japan go for $60,000USD. Made famous by the Japanese animation "Initial D". Yet here in North America you probably couldn't give that car away for free since it's considered so worthless. I guess it proves that one man's garbage is another man's treasure. Maybe the guy loves the MP55 and wants to scoop up every single one he can find so that he'll never run out of them in his lifetime :).

Well, you have to take into account that, US corolla is very very different from Asia corolla. Also, AE86 at that time was one of the top of the line car(for mod use), so it's not the corolla we see today.

I still don't see a MP55 could be a good collection item, unless you want to keep it more than 100 years, then it will be something at that time, I guess.:)

String tension recemended by Yonex is 22lb, but for my MP55 i sting it at 25lb. According to my stringger after a while of playing the tension tend to drop a few lb.
