Well, I did mention that he would have to turn out more results before joining the "four heavenly kings".

This must be extremely worrying for LiYong Bo.
I do not think Ji got lucky at the Olympics. How can you beat Taufik, Gade, Hendrawen in the same tournament and say it was luck?

Now the problem may be motivation. Just like Poul-Erik trying to win tournaments after the 1996 Olympics. For Gong Zhi Chao, it seems to be no problem. However, Ji is reacting differently. Didn;t see his match so i am unable to analyse his game but he has had two early losses in big tournaments.

Xia may have a different problem - my impression is that he may not be able to change his style of play very much and other opponents "have his number" so to speak.

Wonder if LiYongBo has any tricks up his sleeve for the World Champs - an outing for Bao Chun Lai?

The world champs have got to be one of the most unpredictable for some time.

Chen Hong seems to have improved and matured but his game

can also be read, providing you can last the pace he sets.

Some suspect Xia and Ji just going thru the motions to

accumulate points, please sponsors, please country, they

may have come up too fast and need to take it easy for

a while. China's training is like the army, it is easy to burn

out or get injured like SJ or those tennis teens.

Good point.

Maybe even fool other teams into thinking they have gone downhill and are not a threat anymore.
