***********************************************
Please be advised that the following auction:

was ended early by eBay. The auction was ended due to the account
suspension of the seller.
All results for this auction are null and void.

Does anyone know what is going between ebay and the seller?
It seems that all of the stuff posted by seller were revoke.
his username is "Laurence" here in BF. the last time he posted was 10-16. not seen him post since then. let's hope he is ok.
bluejeff 11-07-2003, 11:35 PM I've noticed that, too ( I am a hardcore ebayer)
Hope it's not the law problem......
bigredlemon 11-08-2003, 05:18 AM maybe he forgot to pay his ebay fees
or his CC went over the limit, or expired, etc etc.
TI-SP-SS dude 11-09-2003, 01:35 PM lets just hope the best for him shall we? i was also curious in buying one of his rackets from ebay and he gives great support and is very patient.
chungg 11-09-2003, 03:25 PM I just bought one bag from him on ebay and he disappeared right after I paid by paypal. I noticed it since he didn't replied my email concerning about shipment confirmation. Hope he's ok, or I have to talk to paypal to ask my money back:(
bluejeff 11-09-2003, 11:17 PM I guess he is back with a new ID.

chungg 11-09-2003, 11:28 PM so what's the point to give up a well-established ID and rebuild his reputation again? His reputation is not bad, so I can't see the point. Is Laurence here and would like to explain?
i agree. perhaps Laurence can tell us what happened and clarify for the consumers out there...
LazyBuddy 11-10-2003, 10:36 PM Maybe terminated email services or got hacked??? Oh no...
Laurence 11-12-2003, 05:59 PM Wow, it is actually nice to be noticed when you are gone. It is even nicer that, with one exception, to find out no one posted some crazy stuff about me . . . however, I would like offer a grand explanation as to why my eBay ID got suspended - such as Laurence embezzled $1million, or Laurence got abducted by aliens, or Laurence's business got bought out by a badminton addict with very deep pockets; the truth is, eBay claims my contact information is incorrect.
As a Canadian eBay user, I was registered on eBay USA in 1999. When my credit card on file expired, I could NOT add my new credit card on to eBay USA's system. For the last 6 months, I've paid eBay on time via their PayPal system. Then without notice, they suspended my ID. FYI, email from eBay below:

After numerous emails, I have not heard back from eBay. Just as I built up Chun123 before, I am going to continue where I left off . . . so customers who have paid for goods under CHUN123 will receive their orders as promised. Email response will be a bit slow, as you can imagine, numerous eBay customers are wondering . . . what did Laurence (Chun123) do with my money???
. . . I did enjoy the guess that my system got hacked into though (I actually had the passwords saved into 'autofill' and when autofill did not work, it took me a little while to dig up passwords too)

Laurence,
Feel sorry about u. Sometimes, we just got blamed for "stupid rules" (bugs) that we got no control with.
I am sure very soon, u will get your reputation back on ebay. Still, u might need still talk with ebay, for the protential damage in your business.

How about some nice discounts for BF.com members?? :D We'll order some stuff and fill your feedback with a lot of positive comments in no time flat!! ;) :D hahahaha~
I noticed most of your new shirts on EBay are a cotton/polyester blend. Do you have any that are all polyester?

Laurence 11-21-2003, 07:25 AM After Chun123 got suspended, I set up an alternative user ID . . . unfortunately, eBay does not allow that so I got suspended again (so it was hasta la vista for me).
During this time, I could not access my auction info . . . so I lost communications with customers - however, all outstanding orders on eBay have been shipped (including the customer who bought the blue Yonex 524 for like US$24 - you got a real bargain).
Just a couple of days ago, I received an email from eBay titled:

RE: FA91003 FIP Reinstatement Information Request (KMM96103590V19580L0KM)
----
So, this time, I am REALLY back . . . having learned my lesson, we are frantically working on our own website / webstore and will have the SITE ADDRESS on eBay (I would love to pay for advertising on BF too . . . if Kwun lets me!)
Laurence 11-21-2003, 07:38 AM Also, thanks everyone for your interest in racquets, shirts, shoes, etc . . . so I will definitely give a DISCOUNT to those who are BF members. As for sale, watch on eBay next week . . .
However, PLEASE do not put queries directly on BF Forum but direct to me via email:

bluejeff 11-21-2003, 08:12 AM hmm.....did I hear "discount"?:p

Joseph 11-21-2003, 03:42 PM Laurence,
If you happen to have any Isometric Swing Power 900ss in. Can you hold onto that till you get your website store open? I would really really really like one. I think i remember you having a Swing Power 900ss SP up on ebay. :( I really wanted it...
why don't buy one directly from him? why bother going through ebay?
bluejeff 11-21-2003, 07:10 PM Originally posted by kwun

Exactly, I think you can get a better deal if you just email him directly.
(because ebay charges seller the auction final value fees+listing fees.....)
chungg 11-21-2003, 07:32 PM The only reason that I didn't buy things directly from Laurence is his webpage didn't put the items in a clear way. And a lot of things he sold on ebay didn't show on his website. So I have to email to him to get quote. However, without pictures and detailed description(like he does on ebay), it's very hard to buy stuff such as t-shirts and bags. So I just focus on ebay anyway.
Laurence, if you want to build up a new website, I think San Diego badminton supply and Badminton chain are two very good examples. Also, if you can add US$ quotation, it would be even better. Another thing is, the canada parcel service sucks, I still don't get the bag I bought 17 days agos, so if you want to do some serious business in US, switch to UPS or Fedex.

Gotta disagree with you there. I have used Canada Post a lot with no problems at all. Have you tried tracking the package? It could have been held up by customs. Fedex and UPS all charge you a hefty brokage fee for cross-border packages.
bigredlemon 11-22-2003, 01:34 AM the slow delivery isn't Canada Post's fault... it's the American custom officials fault as everything is slow to get across. Last time i bought something from the states using UPS 3 day expeditated... ended up taking over a week. Canda Post is much much better than UPS.
chungg 11-22-2003, 01:36 AM Winex, since you live in Canada, of course you don't have any problem.
About the tracking, first of all, I don't think regular surface mail has a tracking number, second, even it has, Laurence never gave me one.
And for the custom, if it's really the case, at least Laurence can provide more shipping options for those who live in US. Afterall, it's us to pay the shipping, some people can wait, and some people can't. If we can expect the shipping date more precisely, we will not be so anxious for waiting.
ptang777 11-22-2003, 06:19 AM UPS charges the receiver a brokerage fee for shipment from US to Canada. Wonder if UPS will charge the receiver a brokerage fee from Canada to US?
bluejeff 11-22-2003, 04:50 PM Personally, I would try to avoid UPS at all cost. In fact, I hate UPS. If you ever work in the UPS before, you will know how they treat boxes. They THROW boxes on/off the trucks and that's why more than 80% of boxes I received via UPS are damaged severely.
UPS's tracking system is very poor implemented, nothing compares to Fedex. UPS's tracking system is not up-to-date, not precise about the time they would come during the day, and often, mis-routed.
The best thing about Fedex is, if you track online, they would indicate that, they would come on what date, and by what time. UPS doesn't do that.
If I must choose, I would certainly pick USPS or Fedex because USPS work on Saturday and Fedex 's better service.
Costwise, Fedex is a lot cheaper than UPS if you are shipping a heavy stuff...........
(such as a Computer monitor)
timeless 11-22-2003, 08:49 PM When I cross border shop I never take the fastest shipping method because no matter how fast it gets to the border, it takes forever to get through customs. Sometimes it doesn't make it through customs at all. Recently one of my purchases got rejected by customs because some of the customs documentation attached to the parcel had fallen off in transit. Because of the customs factor, it's very difficult to get an exact arrival date.
I've heard on many occasions that the US Postal Service is notoriously terrible for shipment speed and quality. Canada Post is actually quite good. Often they are faster and better than the courier companies.
If you're in a dire rush to get something in your hands, then don't cross border shop. It is considered international shipment even though our countries share a border. Also, ever since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, both customs are extremely finicky about what arrives and leaves the country. For fastest results, buy locally, or at least domestically. If you can afford the potential wait, then cross border shopping is fine.
chungg 11-22-2003, 09:09 PM Does NAFTA(North America Free Trade Agreement) really exist?
If shipping between these two brother countries is even slower than shipping between US and singapore(last time I bought from badmintonchain, it only took ten days), how could you expect people in these two countries want to trade with each other at all?
Badminton shops in US must be very happy about that.

I can prove this. I ordered stuff from WWC kinda often, and usually took about 7 business days (1-1.5 wks) for the package to be delivered to my house. Therefore, I think overall the services from the postal offices are acceptable, at least, for now.
chungg 11-24-2003, 01:14 PM Well, if this is true, then it must be you are very lucky that your stuff never been held by custom, or the custom is not the real reason of delay. I ordered stuff from Laurence for three times, the first time took 2 weeks, the second time(just a string using envelope) took 3 weeks, and this time, over 3 weeks, not arrived yet. So I have to say my experience is extremely different to yours. If Canada post office is really reliable as you said, then I have to doubt the service of Laurence.
bluejeff 11-27-2003, 12:03 PM hmm....he is back!
(Now I am thinking where the bc/bf discount is....:))
Laurence 11-28-2003, 06:39 AM FYI,
In November, we experienced order delays due to a temporary suspension of our eBay account - fault was in no way CanadaPost.
However, the typical order time shipping to the US via surface mail from Canada (cheapest method) using:
CanadaPost is 12 business days (almost 3 weeks)
FedEx Surface is about 8-9 business days (almost 2 weeks)
Purolator is about 10 business days (almost 2 weeks)
The above usually includes clearing US Customs. However, FedEx charges the customers $25 for Custom handling should US Customs decide to slap on duties (99% of the time they don't) - the highest. FedEx is also much more expensive than CanadaPost.
I always get the feeling that US Customs is trying to screw CanadaPost after Canada's Prime Minister pissed off Bush. Last year, shipments seemed to be quicker.
CanadaPost does an okay job - the problem is when CanadaPost hands the shipment over to US Postal Service, all of a sudden there is a void!

bluejeff 05-27-2004, 09:12 PM He is a great guy, and I am still doing business with him now :)
I think he has too many emails to reply in a day, look at his ebay auctions, he has tons of listings, so I guess he will have at least 100+ emails a day to reply, which will take LOTs of time.
Brave_Turtle 06-14-2004, 05:18 PM Hey guys, it seem that Laurence have email problem another time. Anyone have experienced it with him lately?
Could it be his email is full and he couldn't receive it?
caldude 06-16-2004, 03:59 AM I am wondering if anyone here actually got a discount of Chun123's ebay auctions? I emailed couple weeks ago regarding a Yonex racket on ebay but he never replied.

Seems his web-hosting / email services always got some problem. To be successful in business, maybe it's the time to switch to a better / more reliable provider?
I mean, why have to hassel through all the time, risk of losing business / reputation, just because the web hosting firm doing a crappy job?
Brave_Turtle 06-23-2004, 05:40 PM Exactly, now the problems is: Does he have problem with e-mail or he just don't bother answering?
Beside it's gonna be almost 4 weeks and still haven't received the product, very sad :(

Sgt_Strider 07-11-2004, 07:17 PM From the last few posts in this thread, I'm getting the impression that Laurence is unreliable. Anyone here actually got a racquet from him? Thx
Sgt_Strider 07-13-2004, 02:27 AM Bluejeff or anybody? Is Laurence a trustable dealer?
TrunkZ69 07-13-2004, 03:04 AM I have ordered from Laurence before he it was pretty smooth. He replies to emails slightly slow, but all in all the experience was good. I got the racket a day earlier than expected also, always a bonus.
bluejeff 07-14-2004, 03:42 PM Bluejeff or anybody? Is Laurence a trustable dealer?
Hi, he is a trustable dealer, I just received my racquets today. As of 7/14, 4PM EST. (Originally Ordered on 6/2)
The problems were:
1. His supplier delayed the shipment to him.
2. Canada Post screw up on shipping, they lower my shipping method from 3~4 days priority delivery to be regular shipping, which is 10 days delivery.
So, people live in Canada should have no problem ordering from him, and others should keep an eye on the Canada Post......
PS: A pic of items I received today (exact items from the box):ISO-TISx3
bluejeff 07-15-2004, 03:33 PM Hi, I just received another box from Laurence today (very shocked!, because I thought he sent me too many racquets :p)
Anyway, it's a box with carrying bags (for my racquets above), and this made me think he is a thoughtful person:) remembering to include the bags for racquets.
(Although I don't understand why they are separated into two different shipments, but shipped on the same date:confused: )

2 bags are heavy
3 bag is hard to damage.
