By the way the acoustics or sound system in the QE stadium was fantastic.

The sound ame thru loud, crisp and clear, better even than Worlds.

Well kwun, I'm on your side. I think Xie is just great! I consider her features unusual and her height and model-like body out of the ordinary for a Chinese girl.
You may remember that I reported on her match against Camila Martin during the Japan Open Finals and sang praises of her although she was no match for Camila then.

Looks like Xie is improving her game and I certainly look forward to seeing her on TV and in next year's Singapore Open.

Actually i think she is a promising young lady as well, was just joking with Kwun.

Be ready to see her outshine her seniors in one or two year's time!

Another China beauty whom I've encountered is Huang Hua. Beautiful face but not as tall as Xie, I think, but equally well-proportioned and can easily qualify as a super model.

I suppose HH is way ahead of your time as she was active in the early 90's and was a Bronze medalist in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She had a short badminton career and with a face like her's, no one would expect her to stay long. I think one Indonesian towkay (or was he from Hong Kong?) was quick to appreciate her assets and grab her before anyone else did.

She did appear in a few Singapore Opens and always created a great deal of excitement among the men spectators, who would abandon their current matches and flock to see her play. Although her badminton attire then was a bit more subdued, she was as sexy looking as any of today's female tennis players!

Wish someone can post a picture of the incomparable Huang Hua. Maybe Bbn has a clip of her in action?

Hey only Joanne noticed that!

That winning jump was when Huang Hua won the 3rd point for China

against Korea in 92 Uber Cup Final.

Huang Hua was tall , played very much the same style as Chen Hong today,

maybe she was a high jumper as well.

What I meant was, is that kind of jump with straight legs possible? Or some kind of camera trick? Wish I can jump that high with straight legs... :(

i agree with kwun in that she is cool too... i was so mad in the Hong Kong open finals this year cuz i didn't get to see her up close before she left halfway thru:mad: with bao chunlai i think:mad: :mad: (btw she was talking very animatedly with him all the time...so jealous)

btw i have read some articles that say her playing style is 'unorthodox' (similar to Mia Audina), as in her overhead contact point is behind the head, which is supposed to give less power but more deception. Can anybody please enlighten me further on this please:confused: :confused: :confused:
