I have never have a Cab 20 before, and I am thinking about getting one. However, on the market now, it has a newer version, which is Cab 20MS.

Cab 20 is hard to get ( I'm looking for 3U) and Cab 20MS is very inexpensive
From the numbers, they look almost identical. The major difference is the frame, where Cab 20MS has Muscle power frame.

For those of people who owns the Cab 20, do you think Cab 20MS is similar to the Cab 20? or at least close to it?

G'day,

Cab20 and Cab20MS plays very, very differently. In fact Cab20MS feels closer to Cab23 than to Cab20.

Cab20 is fast, light, agile and best for all round players. Cab20MS on the other hand generates more power but sacrifices agility.

Hey Bluejeff,

Haven't had Cab 20 Original so couldn't comment on it, but CAB 20 MS plays pretty well IMHO. My first CAB 20MS was a 3U which according to some BF'ers is a rarity in NA. Manuverability was fantastic with the lighter version, perhaps the lighter one plays closer to the original CAB 20. The more common CAB 20MS 2U has decent control and good power but probably not as powerful as Ti-10 and MP 100. Anyway, are you buying them to play or for your collection? Switching from Isos to Ovals can be really trying, so it'll take some time to adapt.

Perhaps I should rephrase my question:)

Is Cab 20 and Cab 20MS similar in performance?
(in the same weight, ie: [Cab20 2U vs Cab20MS2U ] or [Cab20 3U vs Cab20MS 3U])

From the stats on the web page, they really look identical.
same length, same stiffness, and perhaps same balance??

So I guess the Cab 20MS does have more power but trade off the speed....?

bj,

i think the answer remains the same with the rephrased question.

from the stats, most of the top end cabs are actually quite similar. but in reality, we do find that they are different.

for whatever stuff that Yonex claims are different, like Muscle / Hi Modulus graphite, we actually find those to have little effect on the performance.

I played with both Cab20 and cab 20 MS(or is it MP?) before. Both 2U.

Both racket are very much different. Cab 20 MS is very very stiff and more head heavy. Good for singles game. If you dun have a strong wrist, I dun recommend you use it. AND if you are using it for doubles, IMO ... simply not suitable.

Cab20 original is great ... at least for me! As I posted in other thread, I have just switched back to Cab20 SP & Special from all the iso series e.g. MP77 etc. Power is decent and control is superb! Defence also not bad. :)

FYI, Cab 20 SP is still available at least in singapore, should be abt SGD$90. While the CAB20 Special is even more easily available, at least for now and cheaper at abt SGD$80.

Before anyone else ask ... from what I concluded in 2 matches, Cab20 original and Cab 20 special are exactly the same!!!! Only different in colour scheme and special is probably just a special commemorative gold wording editions!! I have both of them and they play the same! :)

And the other diff bet 20 and 20ms is probably since ms is muscle power frame, in recommended specs, it can take 2lbs more of tension then 20.

Cheers to Cab20!

That's exactly what I thought. I don't see much difference with the graphite structure on the performance.

Thanks for replying guys.:)

A club member using both cab20 (2U) and cab20 ms (2u). According to his experience, cab20ms is even mroe stiff than cab23. He's having a hard time to utlized it. Cab20 is a much better all around racket to him at this moment, but it's more or less has to do with the fact that he's using them for the past 10+ yrs.

Get a 2U cab20. I have one and I wouldn't consider it heavy at all, a good balance of power and control. Infact, I just recently passed down my MP100 and 99 to my brother, hung up my IsoTI SR (CP) and bought 3 Cab20 2U!! No Regrets!! :D

i used to play with the cab 20, then cab 23, and now cab 20 mp, i am looking forward to playing or buying the new cab 30 mp. I broke my cab 20's shaft when i went for a jump smash, the shaft shatter upon impact with the "bird." I think the best racket to play with is the cab series..........just for me.

anyway the cab 20 and cab20 mp has the same play characteristic, however the cab 23 is different, in that it is stiffer. I broke my cab 23 when i introduce it with the floor. most important buy the cab 20 mp 2u, heavier but better after you get used to it.
