yeah. they will have 11 courts. the location is on rt 237 carribean drive/lawrence expressway. the ceiling is only 2 ft higher than before but that's much better than before.

they are seeking donations, US$1000 donation now will earn you 5 years of free membership.

Haha, yeah we should all bring our money together and donate $1000 as a group. It'll be from, Badminton Forum and all of us that donated will get the 5 year membership. I'll donate, if they'll let us do it that way. :)

they won't allow you to do that!

in fact, we already asked ( ;) ) , the donation is per person...

but if you think about it, it is a good deal if you plan to play long term.

$1000 for 5 years. that's $200 / yr or ~$4/week. drop in fee is $4 right now and membership is $25 /month (~$6/wk) or $35 /month (~$9/wk). no matter how you look at it, if you plan to go there at least once or twice a week, on average it is a good deal.

I would donate $1000, but seeing as I dont work. I can't spare that much from what I currently have. Which is just above $100 >_<. I wonder what can I get for $100?

it aint a donation if youre getting something in return... so they should just call it their $1000 special.

donations get you tax credits. Oh yea, you don't pay tax on donations.

only donations to charity organizations is tax deductable, unfortunately. otherwise, i can donate $1000 to my sister and get a few hundred bucks back...

It sure sounds as a good deal, however, is there any "gurantee $$$ back" for unexpected issues, such as moving out of state (surely can't play there), club close down due to various reasons, long term disability (hope not happen to anyone), etc?

probably not. that's why it is a 'donation'... do you donate to red cross and then say, 'ops, made a mistake, can i have my money back?' ;)
