the other way?

most people seem to stick religiousely to their brand. I have tried most and always seem to go back to Carlton, no particular reason just seem to prefer playing with them. I started off after my wooden experience with a Yoneyama (YY) as they were known back in the 70's but then went to a carlton 3.7s and stayed with them for yrs to the AS-1 trying others but not liking them.

I've tried yang yang but not liked them and wondered about the new yonex, although pricier than the carlton.

Has anyone moved brands and enjoyed it

To me, a particular model is much more important than its brand name. For reputable (not necessary the big name or most expensive) brands, I can always dig out some gems using relatively cheaper price. Of course, luck might also play major roles in such a task.

Currently, most "collection" are SOTX and Yangyang.

I sort of swapped in and out of the trend. I first started with a Black Knight intermediate racquet - BK is more of a Canadian brand. I then fell into the trend and bought a Yonex Ti-3 which was a big step up from that racquet. I progressed a lot with that racquet since I was playing a lot and took lessons. I took badminton more seriously afterwards and then loved balanced racquets and Forza had a great racquet which I liked, it was balanced, extra stiff similar to the MP100.

So, I learnt that Yonex isn't the best brand. It's what the specific models have to offer. Yonex is just a name, it won't make you play better or guarantee user satisifcation, only your judgement will.

I am actually in between brands right now. First racquet was a Carlton, followed by Yonex. Now I am moving on to Victor because they have more selection in their oval frames than Yonex. Victor racquets are pretty decent and definitely a bang for my buck.

i started off with a yonex and then went to carlton. i didn't find carlton to be well suited to my game, so i went to gosen and yonex. i used a yang-yang for awhlie because the store owner was nice enough to lend me one of his personal rackets to play a tournament with because my string broke. but for now i'm leaning towards yonex

I started out with Carlton (because that's all we could get at the time) and have stuck with them from coming back a couple of years ago, I bought one Yonex swing power Ti SA, but went back to carlton rackets because they gave me more power.

After experimenting to replace my old trusty 85g I have now settled on the AT700 and have been using them solely for about 2 months.

The first racquet I remember having was a Yonex RY-700 (graphite shaft/aluminium head I think)

Then my friends were all getting Prince racquets because they knew someone who
could get them cheap so I had one of those.

2 years later when the Prince broke, I had a Wilson because it was half price in a sale

2 years later a couple of friends got Ti-5s and I had a go with those and liked them so I got myself a Ti-5

This is about when I started playing more than once a week and joined a club.
Within a year I got an MP-100, but found it too heavy, so also got a Monsoon 3000.
I can't remember why I stoped using the Ti-5, but I eventually sold it.

Another year on and I tried a Carlton AS-Ti and I've preferred them ever since (along with the AS-1).
I can't see myself getting any of the newer Carltons though.

Strangely enough, in the last week I have borrowed a friend's Ti-5 to play with.
This is because I am coming back from an elbow injury and wanted to use a raquet that was strung at low tension. And apart from timing problems and the grip being too big, I quite like it. For quite a while I had no control at all around the net, but oodles of power.

I started playing using Carlton(s)...then Yonex ..Cab 16; 18 & 20 , Aerotus 30; 100 & 110...in between Yonex days I've also used Kennex; Fischer; Yang Yang and Victor.
Now my racquects are Carlton AS 1 Ti only...having broken my F1 Ti and AS 1.

I was trying out some YY rackets with the "new" features "extra long", iso head, ti, unfortunately my Ti SP SS broke, but finally switched back from MP 100 ( 2U and 3U) and Ti 7 ( long) to "normal" -oval shaped regular lenght Carlton rackets like the AB 2000, Rasmussen and AB Lite.

I've gone from random brands via Carlton (e.g. AeroBlade 900, 1000 and Rasmussen) to Yonex (a shitload of different models, more recently MP 100, MP 88 and AT 700)
