I'm considering buying a Ti-7 Light, but I found this post in Aug 2002. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this claim?

Several Danish shops are advicing their customers to NOT buy the new Yonex Ti-7 Light model. Apparently there is a suspected design flaw, that has caused a lot of very similar identical shaft breakages. It seems to be a problem with the design itself, rather than spurious production flaws, so it is not likely that it is local to Denmark or Europe.
NOTE: I have not myself experienced this problem (I've never used the Ti-7 Light), so I can't vouch for the accuracy of the warning. But if you are a potential buyer of this model, this could be something you would want to be aware of and investigate further.

I don't use this racket myself. However, I know 2 club members using this racket, both with "US" code (I think). Both of them are A lvl players, and one of them even won several local / regional tournaments with his Ti-7 light. Never heard about any complain from either of them.

maybe just one bad batch. Feedback from retailers/distributors would prompt yonex to rectify that situation i'm guessing

i WANTED to buy it initially.. but the shop owner also told me it broke easily and i got the ti-10 but my friend has it.. and hmmm... i find that it is too light.. tried the 3u think 2u would not be heavy enuff too...Guess its for those ppl who want light racqs but as u know light racqs dun possess alot of power but makes your hand feel light theerfore if looking for a racq which could hit at least further .. choose a slightly head heavy racq.

Hey unregistered,
Thanks for the advice... I was considering the Ti-10 but I don't have enough money :( and I like using light racquets since I play a lot of doubles. Right now I'm using a Cab 8200 and although there's very little power, I love the quickness of it. I'm hoping if I work on my technique, I'll develop adequate power....:)

I used this racket when I was in Thailand(now I am in Europe) and never experienced any problem with it.
BTW, Unregistered from Singapore, how much does Ti-10 cost in Sin. I really want this racket but it was discontinued in Thailand.

Yeah...
I also heard about all this.
That what I heard was that the TI - 7 light brakes fast because of its slim shaft..
It is the same with MP99 this racket also have the slim shaft bout by the MP99 the slim shaft is developed new and therefore this shaft is stronger...
I think so...

I use both mp99 and ti-7 light when I was in Thailand. I dont think Ti-7 break easier than mp99. I broke my mp99 while I hit a weak return shot(the shuttle was hit by the frame). But for Ti-7, my partner hit it very hard but there was nothing happen.(my partner used wilson hyper carbon 4.0) .
