The hardware (left to right, top to bottom):

- 2 tubes of Yonex Mavis 300 shuttles
- 1 tube of Prizm (Forza brand) feather shuttles
- 1 tube of Carlton Aerogear 770 feather shuttles
- 1 box of granola bars
- 3 racket cases: yellow style MP99 thermal case, Muscle Power case, and one Black Knight racket case.
- Bag: Yonex racket bag 2224 (6 rackets)
- AXE deodorant body spray
- combination lock
- felt marker
- "bag of goodies": scissors, lotion, bandages, and 1 roll of gause
- electric tape
- Rackets: YangYang Tactic 8500, Yonex MP 99, Black Knight BK-770.
- pack of Colban self-adhesive support wrap
- pair of Yonex shb 92 shoes (old but still good)

Hardware not included in the picture that I usually pack in my bag:

- 1 Yonex Isometric Ti Swing Power SX + case (in repair)
- change of clothing
- full water bottle
- bag full of grips (about 20-30 of them) (actually, they're in my bag, forgot to take them out for the picture)

- cell phone and "badmintonalberta" handbook with phone numbers and badminton rules.

I try not to overload my bag with too much stuff so you'll notice that I don't have as much material as kwun or ants (then again...I didn't take the hardware not included in my bag for consideration):D .

Sorry about the picture quality. I used my webcam to take this pic because my digital camera ran out of batteries:( .

You guys are either pack rats or simply in lost of space to put your stuff but that's quite the norm with baddy enthusiasts, no?

As with shiri, I don't have a pic because I don't have a digital camera, but I can really say that my bag really shows the minimalist in me.

- 1x Yonex 3-racquet bag
- 1x Yonex racquet, Ti-10
- 1x Yonex racquet cover
- 1x Yonex Extreme grip
- 2x tubes Gosen Gold shuttles (they're free...)
- 1x tubes of usable shuttles
- 1x 1.5l 100 Plus bottle
- 1x badminton/tennis/squash shirt
- 1x pair of knee guards
- 1x bottle of Yoko Yoko painkiller (is it a 'painkiller'?)
- RM0.30 worth of coins

During games, it'd include the
- 1x set of car keys (as if it's ever be 2x...)
- 1x of house keys
- 1x cellphone
- 1x pair of clean socks
- 1x pair sports shorts

One question to all you people:
Where do you keep your wallets?

PS Did you buy a new phone in the meantime?

Voltaren, eh? :o
Heavy stuff -- that's a synthetic morphine pain killer if I recall correctly. I hope you're not driving to your badminton sessions... :p

crazy_smasher
12-10-2003, 05:52 AM
Voltaren is not really a morphine pain killer product.

Its active ingredient is Diclofenac which is part of the NSAID family.
In brief, it inhibits the release of the agent causing inflammation at the area affected.
By the way, emulgel is quite expensive, i use ketoprofen also a NSAID, costing 4-5 times cheaper. NSAID is THE solution for sprained ankle and other inflammation if u want fast effect. Do not used ointment or menthol rubbing, it does not reduce the inflammation.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are very well tolerated, widely used and are often the initial therapy for common inflammation, such as that which follows a muscle strain or sprain. They can also be used to treat a high fever. They are called nonsteroidal because they are not steroids, which treat inflammation by suppressing the immune system (inflammation is one of the body's healing responses to trauma). Instead, all NSAIDs treat inflammation in a way similar to the mechanism of aspirin, the most well known and oldest member of the class.

How They Work
NSAID drugs mainly inhibit the body's ability to synthesize prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are a family of hormone-like chemicals, some of which are made in response to cell injury. The common mechanism of action for all NSAIDs is the inhibition of the enzyme cyclooxgenase (COX). COX is necessary in the fomation of prostaglandins. This enzyme actually has two known forms, COX-1 which protects the stomach lining and intestine, and COX-2 that is involved in making the prostaglandins that are important in the process of inflammation.

Hmmm well , its because my strings often snap , if i don't like the tension i will just change the string after few games. And sometimes my friends will get strings from me just in case they need to strung their racket.

MATT ROSS. I don't know how it can be fitted.. but it did! :) And the bag don't looked stuffed until it explode. Maybe you do wanna get the Magic Yonex bag hahah :D

Kwun : since you have all your sweaty stinky stuffs in your bag.. how often do you clean your bag man? Oh man.. i can't imagine putting sweaty stuffs in my bag!

Heh! Gold Bond is the brand name of a body powder I used for my court shoes, but I switched to baking soda on Timeless' advice. The Gold Bond powder is now for my street shoes only... hate wasting. The used string is for on-site repair work if I ever need it... again, I hate to waste:p.

lol..i was wondering why you don't put your shoes in your bag. it's true, it's such a hassel to take my shoes out to air them out. A good idea for yonex would be to make a little "vent" for the shoe pocket (just tiny holes for aeration), sort of like my dads victor bag. it's one of the downfalls for yonex bags.

Hey Cooler,

You sure it's safe to put your shoes in your car? A friend of mine had his car broken in and his Mizunos stolen when he left it in the backseat... in plain view:( Fortunately, the thief wasn't a baddy fanatic, cuz he left his expensive racquets alone:p.

know what u mean. I had my back window smashed and radio shacks speakers stolen:rolleyes: They stole my unattached graphic equalizer amp. However, they couldnt steal my blaukpunt car stereo because i had it cable secured at the back. The bad part was that they practically destroyed my dash trying to get it.

Here's mine:
1) 3 sets of shirts
2) 2 pairs of shorts
3) 1 change of underwear
4) 1 small towel
5) 1 pair of socks
6) 2 extra sets of disposable contact lenses
7) 1 pair of SHB 89 MX shoes
8) 4 replacement grips
9) 1 overgrip
10) 1 towel grip
11) scissors
12) water bottle
13) analgesic spray
14) 1 tube of shuttles
15) 5 rackets: (from left)
Sintec Ti88, Sintec Ultimate Power 1000, Sintec Armorace 500, Sintec Armorace 600, Sintec Armorace 700
16) Ashaway racket bag
17) Halim Hariyanto's shirt for good luck and motivation! Hehe! :D

For serious matches etc, I may carry an extra pair of shoes, socks, knee guards and tape.

But most times when I want to carry light, I'll just bring 2 rackets (any 2 of the 5), a change of clothes, shoes and shuttles.

You mean, u will put this one on in serious games (i.e. tourny, etc)? Or, just more like a "collection" item to spread the "fighting spirit" in ur bag? ;)

I just keep it in my bag as you say, to spread the "fighting spirit". :D

I wear it very rarely just for the novelty. :p

Wow you people are amazing! I usually take out all my shirts and towels at home after a badminton session and my bag is usually empty other times filled with only racquets and shuttles, wristband and lots of papers. I just dump the receipts from badminton courts into my bag, empty it once in a while though. My bag is probably the most empty one in here... How shoes can go into ones bag I wonder, my shoes are usually kept on the shoe rack. Lol!

I took 2 old shuttles, with a few broken feathers. The superglue wouldn't come out so I took off the tip to squeeze it out. At first nothing. Suddenly, superglue all over my hands. 2 fingers nearly got stuck together, spent the whole night peeling off dried superglue. Nails still damaged with glue.

Somehow I didn't know that even the biggest badminton bags could have a compartment specially for shoes. I used to carry 5 racquets in my bag, then when someone said "You're crazy" I decided I was and now carry 3 only. :) After I don't really change my racquet in between games unless I feel that the racquet is not helping me in my game. Just finished my tubes of shuttles forgot to buy again. :(

calvinlgoh
04-12-2004, 08:21 PM
its not that big... its supposed to be a 6 racket bag... the 4 rackets with their covers fits into one of two compartments... the other compartment stores the shuttles and shirt... while a shoe pocket takes up the space from the shuttle's compartment.
I am thinking about only keeping the MP's in their covers and leave the other 2 without because the bag in kinda heavy with everything in it... dont know yet... dont wanna break any of the rackets... the cover provides that little extra protection.. or peace of mind at least... :D

Oh well... i might decide to take two covers out...

No I didn't mean it like that, you said if everything in life fitted so perfectly but Ikea is a well known seller of furniture you have to make fit yourself because it is sold as "flat packed"

Sometimes it's difficult to get the pieces to fit together and you are always left with extra pieces and/or screws.

It's just an urban myth in the UK about "flat packed" furniture.

No offense meant

When I'm cycling, I have to carry a light bag. But otherwise, my main racket bag typically contains:

First-aid kit
Copy of the laws of badminton
2 Karakal SL-70 rackets
1 tube Yonex AS-50 shuttles
1 tube Yonex Mavis 370 shuttles
Wallet/phone/watch etc.
Shoes (Yonex SHB89M)
Socks (Thorlos)
Towel for showering
Clothes to change into after shower
Bunch of bananas in a plastic bag

I carry my water bottle separately, since it tends to leak. Sometimes I add some old rackets, if I think other people will need them to play.

If you think that packing a racket bag with all this stuff is tough, you should see how compact my first-aid kit is :D Took me almost an hour to work out how to repack it the first time.....

I've got a Head two compartment tennis bag that probably holds something like 6-8 badinton rackets, but inside, I have:

MP55
MP77
Cab 30m
6 X mavis 350
6 x mavis 300
2-3 x mavis 7 "Turkeys" that I "accidentally" took from a local club:rolleyes:
12 X Kason "Standard" birdies
spare overgip (why so many birds? Sometimes I go to help out beginner friends, and no one wants to do shuttle feeds with just half a dozen birds! so whenever they go on special, i have this compulsive habit of buying more birds.)
1 X generic shorts
1 X shirt, usually a nike dri-fit or a helly hansen
2 X kneebraces
1 X elbow brace
1 X roll general purpose cloth tape
1 X pair of shoes
1 X spare pair of socks (essential!)
6-12 X packs of silica gel that I've collected from various boxes of chinese noodles (I usually go to school or work after the gym, and letting my wet clothes soak in their own sweat gives me shivering thoughts.)
1 litre of orange juice in an indestructible nalagene bottle (I used to just bring the carton, until once, i crushed it and it leaked everywhere. NOT NICE.)
1x gym lock
1x small bottle of whoopass, hopes and dreams

Just a question,

I've noticed that a lot of you people bring strings with you in your bag. It this just because you're too lazy to take them out in the first place and prefer keep all your badminton stuff in one place, or are you somehow prepared to restring your rackets onsite at the court if you break one?!

Some facilities actually have pro-shops with their own on-site stringers. Also, some players have string repair kit for patch work. I used to have a used string for repair work cuz my friend has a repair kit. Nowadays, I just leave my extra package of strings in my closet. Not everything I got are in my bag, but it's pretty close though. Can't risk losing everything to theft:rolleyes:.

Very interesting reading these posts... You guys carry a lot of stuff...

I carried most of the stuff except for a Wooden squash racket for training and also a big towel for stretching... After reading your posts i might have to rethink what i used to carry if i were to start baddy again...

yonex atlanta 1996 bag
2 carlton airblade superlite
1 black knight saber pro
pants and t-shirt (i don't like shorts for some reason...)
tube of shuttles
couple extra grips for myself or friends who might need one
adidas indoor soccer shoes

not shown, water, granola bars, an extra pair of socks, scissors, wallet, keys, phone, etc.

yes i did, i play allot of doubles and it's the best racket i've ever used when it comes to doubbles, the headlight balance and all is just perfect.. i feel it has stepped up my game a notch or two!.. but for singles i still preffer my trusty MP 99 as it gives me more power!.. and the metallic finnish on the racket looks incredible!.. best looking racket ever in my opinion!

As a distributor, are you not more inclined to take a greater number of "sample" racquet for people to try out at your club. I thought you would carry more than Cooler (who I believe can do weight training just using his badminton bag's contents). ;)

Winex Mighty Muscle 200
Winex MM90
Winex Ti-12

It depends as most folks that I have come across tend to only want to try the high end models.

The shoes? na... it just so happened like that...as for the grips... I usually prefer flashy colours... it just so happens that I saw that particular dark orange ( which i ve never seen b4, usually they are flashier and lighter...) so i bought it for fun... as u can see i have other grips...pouder blue, red, pink...

so i wouldn t say that i deliberatly matched them ... but I do think that i tend to put on flashy grips because mp99 itself is flashy racquet from my own opinion... ;)

They're quite decent I guess.

I've never try other court shoes so I can't make a comparison. I personally think these shoes don't have enough cushioning. I wanna try the yonex shoes with the insole power cushions, the one with the bumps inside. To see if they're softer.

DinkAlot
05-31-2005, 02:01 PM
Hi Scott: I feel Kwun is right on this his assessment, stating that both shoes are similar and the 99 is a bit firmer. This leads to slightly better transitioning.

I think both are good but I give the 99 the edge. It just feels a bit better, my foot does not move as much in the shoe.

I don't think you can go wrong with either shoe. :)

...haha...yes, i agree...i think we should all do the same...:p...but Cooler...do you really bring them all with you to the gym?...
...i only bring 3 racquets to the gym with me...and possibly 4 on rare occasions...but the thing is...everytime i bring more than 2...my dad always complains saying that i won't need em...however, what gets me thinking is that those of you who bring say....5+ racquets to the gym...do you guys ever have security issues with your belongings?...not like people are gonna take your racquets and stuff...but like...risk having your racquets or stuff inside damaged...?
...i know i sound really paranoid and like a nagging granny...but i've witnessed basketball players coming into the gym...and while they wait for badminton to finish...they start taking shots...and one time...this guy took a shot and he missed the rim completely...and the ball landed on another guy's bag...i know he had racquets in there, but i never found out what happened to his racquets cause i didn't know him...other possible cases could be someone who you don't know just simply sitting on your bag...and with so many racquets in there...i doubt the person would be willing to pay up...so yeah...i know this sounds pretty basic...but just a thought after seeing all those racquets...:p

SuperMe, yes i do bring them all to the gym. The place i go to play aren't big open public gyms but rather smaller clubs. I was testing the 4u vs 3u 800OF and DE, different string & grip of 3u mp99. Now that is done, i carry one of each of those now so the bag can fit in the ns7k and ns8k. YOu'll be amazed how much that bag can hold. Not shown are 2 more pairs of baddy shoes plus a smaller bath towel on the other side pouch. One different is i bring a shortened tube that holds maximum 5 feather shuttles. You guys should concentrate on footwork, correct strokes, and fitness and less about equipments :)

PS I bring all the stuffs (as shown in photo) to places i go. It's a hassle to bring certain stuffs to each place where i go play :) or else i would definitely loose track of stuffs

Good point, but don't you think it's more of a hassle when you lose your bag or like a few people are saying, it gets stolen. Everything in your bag goes with it. That would be quite a dilemma. :p

they are.
but they suited my needs perfectly.
made for the same surface (indoor, not cleats, obviously), very stiff ankle and heel area, rounded edges, awesome grip, thin soles, and very light weight. and to top it all off, it was much cheaper than a pair of mizuno or yonex shoes, which were what i was considering at the time.

I was wondering... do any of you carry around your broken rackets with you? You know, so you can show your friends how they broke. And if they're just fractured, you can still use them if you're desperate.

I ask because I just bought a 6-racket bag, and as I only have 2 unbroken rackets, it seems a waste.
