Jonassen won the national championship today beating Peter Gade 15-5 15-6. Gade couldn't do anything to stop a superior Jonassen.. I think Kenneth will be a dark horse in the forthcoming events in 2004
Whoa, that comes rather as a surprise! In the recent Copenhagen Masters, it was Gade that gave Wong the most trouble.
I haven't seen the match yet (got it taped though), and I haven't read any comments from Gade or Jonassen, so I don't know what went on.
I doubt Jonassen can beat a fresh Gade that convincingly. Is Gade ill or injured again?

According to the news today, Gade was suffering from a cold only allowing him to be on 90 % of his best performance.
Unfortunately, I missed the match, so I don't know if it was visible or not.

I couldn't see any signs of injury but Poul Erik Höyer mentioned it. Gade was leading 5-2 in the 1st set but then made a lot of unforced errors. Seems like Peter never learn to stay calm and use various tactics. He plays his own style and if it's not enough then he can't win. Very sad because in my opinion his the most talented player among all single players.
