Yes, should not penalise Chen Hong for one loss. Chen has done for China a great deal already, cannot expect him to be at the top forever.

Sang and Zheng did alright too, that pair can be pretty good at times.

I think Lin Dan losing a game to thiraya ? is a worse result than Chen hong losing to Boonsak. Boonsak, is alreay a Champion this year.

I think Chen hong is very good for winning long tournamentsbecause he is very fit.

Unable to play brilliantly in one-off matches in Thomas Cup or Sudirman.

Wont be surprised if he doesnt play in actual finals.

I think Singapore quite rightly is using this TC to expose our local boys to prepare for subsequent team and individual events. The stated objective of the SBA is to enter the final rounds of the TC in 2012, I think. So the fact that our local lads put up quite a good showing in the singles is a good sign.

Ronald is a Singapore Citizen now and his future is with S'pore. I think the Indonesian twins were PRs (Permanent Residents) and because they were unfit, they were dropped from the national team and could have returned to Indonesia. But the team still relies alot in Ronald who has contributed two points in this TC, one in first singles and the other, surprising in second doubles. So he has redeemed himself somewhat for his recent poor outings.

Regarding Indra, as you may know he is the elder brother of Candra and is pretty old for a singles player. At the last S'pore Satellite tournament, he was defeated by the young, up-and-coming Simon Santoso.

As I have said, the coaches must have considered the form and performance of the players in training and with the TC Finals goal in 2012, I think they did the right thing to expose our young players.

Although S'pore still has a chance to enter the final rounds, I will be surprised if they did as Hong Kong and Thailand are the favourites.

I think it's still rather early to say who's hot, or who's not. After a long rest, some slow "warm up" players might need a little bit time to gain their form and rhythm back.

Overall, this is the 1st major event most players playing so far this yr.

Although Chen Hong lost to Boonsak but it's only one match and he has just returned from a long layoff due to wrist injury. Give Chen Hong a break as I am sure by the time when All England arrives, Chen Hong will let his present felt. Besides, who else is more suitable to send to Athen? Boa Chunlai? Lin Dan? Xia Xuanze? Chen Yu? Among these 5 amigos, I think Chen Hong still is more consistent and experience. Have faith on Chen Hong, though he's not flashy like Lin Dan and corky like Xia, still a very very solid player.
In my opinion, 2 Chinese players that are for certain to send to Athen are Chen Hong and Xia for their vast experiences. Xia also is preferred mostly to counter Malaysia rival - "meet Xia sure lose" Wong Choon Hann.

He is 20 years old, 107th in the world and Thai number three in the world rankings.

His best results last year were reaching the eigth of finals of 2003 Thailand Open (losing to Boonsak) and 2003 Swiss Open (tightly losing to Chen Yu) and being runner-up in "Smiling Fish Asian Satellite" (losing to Boonsak in the final)
