sounds like nervousness to me... or a mild panic attack.

I do have a tendency to cool off in the middle of tournements..but that's not just the hands. It's like I burned up my energy, and then I have a few cups of cold water/Gatorade/ice tea, and I feel a little cold. But this doesn't happen on regular sessions though. But then something else weird happens...after playing for like 2 hours..then left hand would be cold , and my right (racket) hand would only be a little warm. And I'd try to warm my left hand up using it to swing the racket for a bit..but it looks silly, and it still doesn't warm up :D

I get cold hands sometimes. Not related to the opposition or event, though. More the ambient temperature. It's been commented on when shaking hands after games. The rest of me can be thoroughly warm/hot. In between games I try to keep them in pockets.
Last thursday I played in a cold hall for 2 hours continuous, no sitting off waiting, and for the whole time, all of my left arm was stone cold. I've never had that happen before. Brrrrr

i have some other "pre-tournament match effects" that happen to me... they are a little more annoying than cold hands....

You know, that doesn't happen to me in badminton, but it'll happen to me as I'm jogging... I can run 5K at a fairly brisk pace (5min/K) yet my arms and legs still feel cold, even though the ambient temp is not too cool...
I'm wondering whether it's because you haven't warmed up yet? I dunno the scientific explanation behind it but in my case, I found it if I did some very vigorous cardio before my run, my arms and body will feel warm..
Maybe you need to fix a portable heater to your grip :D

The exact same thing happens to me when i watch new badminton videos. Not only do my hands get cold, my feet are practically frozen, although my body doesn't feel cold.

i agree too, ambient temp doesn't make much different, it's more with warming up. Especially with your non-racket hand since you don't hold racket with two hand...
So maybe you should bring a glove to keep your hand warm. ;)
P.S: I can run 5K in 23 min :D
