View Full Version : female badminton addict.
so janet and i were merrily eating dinner at the dinner table.
kwun fell ill for the last 3 days bcoz kwun spent too much early hours following AE scores, working late during the night, and doing hard work during the day.
so anyway, we were eating, and janet asked, "are you still feeling sick?"
kwun was rather happy that someone cares for him, "yeah, still got a bit of a headache, if i move around, it hurts.."
janet says cheekily, "so you do think if we go play some little badminton will magically cure you?"
 "aiyah, your bf is on his sick bed and you want him to go play badminton with you?????!?"
cappy75 03-16-2004, 09:58 PM LOL! Oh, Kwun, what have you done?!! You have made an unstoppable monster out of her:D!
wood_22_chuck 03-16-2004, 10:22 PM I think this is one of those opportune moment where she knows she can probably beat you at badminton! ... maybe play mix with Kwun guarding the front :D

LazyBuddy 03-16-2004, 10:47 PM Actually, I think badminton is good to help recovery.
I proved this twice, both time, with bad flu... Got really sweat but felt much better when the sessions ended. ;)
TrunkZ69 03-16-2004, 11:12 PM last time i was feeling abit sick, and i went out to play badminton.
the next day i magically couldn't get up! add to that a headache and little dizziness. i had the flu!! :) that was thanksgiving day :( For the rest of the day i slept and ate maybe 6 inches of a baguette.
Janet must have felt quite relieved that you are actually not as addicted to baddy as she is. At least there is a sane (or is it really 'same'?) person in the house!:D
shawntn 03-17-2004, 03:37 AM Maybe she meant the "other" badminton game. The one requires no rackets.
woop. 03-17-2004, 05:04 AM I've just started seeing a girl from one of my clubs. We'd just been out a few times and she stayed over my place. The next day we got up early to get to a badminton tournament (mixed) we were both playing in (not together). Got there, got the draw, what's our first match? Yep, a head to head against each other!!!
I'm terrible at playing mates, let alone a girlfriend!!! We lost, and infact we lost every game that day. Oh well, at least it's nice to know there are women out there who share our passion for the game.
BobbyGeneric 03-17-2004, 10:20 AM i only wish my girlfriend enjoyed the game as much as yours! :p
cooler 03-17-2004, 11:12 AM I think you should go play badminton with her despite your condition or else she'll start looking;) :p
LazyBuddy 03-17-2004, 11:50 AM Kwun,
I guess u should follow her "order" regardless how u feel. Sure, u got a headache if forcing urself to play. However, if u say no, and she kept asking or even got mad, I am pretty sure u will get even more headache. :D
I was sick today, and i went for a 2.5 hour badminton practice. And i felt absolutely horrible after.. seemed to play well though. I am about to pass out./..
cappy75 03-17-2004, 11:16 PM So, Kwun, was Janet always so fanatical about the sport:)? Kinda gives hope to other baddy guys who's trying to 'reform' their significant others:D.
15Love 03-17-2004, 11:56 PM Hey Kwun, you have my sympathies! I have to drag Mr15Love out to play lots of times( when he didn't feel like it.. but he always insists that he was glad I did!)

sometimes guys like to be a couch potato. i think that's the natural tendency. and that's why more than 1/2 of american are overweight! so go drag him out for that badminton game!

janet likes to play. she is not the sit still type. so rather than sitting at home and do nothing, she likes to go out and play...
cappy75 03-18-2004, 01:15 AM Nah, I would argue that those more than 1/2 of americans don't know the game. If they did, they won't need their women to drag them out:D! Serious baddy is serious drug for the addicts:p.

Wow, Kwun addresses himself in 3rd person now. RealMad thinks that's funny :) Maybe moderators should do this....
BoboTheBadder 03-18-2004, 04:41 AM haha reminds me of when my parents bad to drag me out of bed to play badminton with them. Now I make them go places to play and they're all tired all the time now ^^
bluejeff 03-18-2004, 07:43 AM sigh.....I really hope my girlfriend one day will tell me "I want to play badminton"..... :(
She is usually busy.......but I really like to have her to go with me :(:(

Maybe invite her to ur practice session or tourny once a while, let her feel the intense of the game, and watch for the unbelieveable movements. Then, start slow and teach her some basic strokes...
If rush through, just throw her on the court, most likely, u will get a "no no..." ;)
TheGr8One 03-18-2004, 11:08 AM I think badminton is good even if you get sick in some situations, provided you don't try too hard..
Say if you have cold..and you play badminton..you can "warm up"..if you play intensively enough...
I don't know if badminton helps with head aches..
Well...maybe if you are getting really tired of work and want to have some fun...

If she says "no no ..", you can tell her that there are many girls in club want to play with you inside and outside the hall :D
...
and your head will get the "hardest smash" (of course, with pan instead racket) from your gf immediately :P

When I was sick, I played badminton. I got really sweat and I wore my sweater though. Then I drank a cup of warm chinese black tea. I got well on the next day.

Similar as my experience.
Instead of just wearing sweater, I turn the heat all the way up in my car when I drove. I got really sweat both on and off court. This helped me to recover.
The only draw back was, 2 other friends in my car, were almost knocked out, and refused to take a ride with me in the next month or so. :D

from the heat or your sweat odors:confused: :p
we went yesterday. it was ok. form seems to be quite off, body was giving out 85% instead of 100%.
strange flu i had. high fever and major headache and sorethroat on sunday, some what cured on monday, even went to work, then headache came back on tuesday. wednesday some headache lingers and then somehow coughing suddenly came in. now i am still coughing but no more headache/fever/sorethroat.

coughing is the final stage of the flu recovery, same for me too.

You should thank your lucky stars that she doesn't spend the better part of the day to play mahjong! Do you know what will be the outcome if she does?
cappy75 03-19-2004, 04:31 AM Heh! Loh, are you speaking from personal experience here;)?
