View Full Version : Armotrec 700
Jsmash 03-29-2004, 04:58 PM Hello there,
I'm thinking to buy a Armortec 700 racquet, but was told this racquet quite head heavy. I now use a Carbonex 15 Long, but have aggessive game. Any recomendation, or thoughts on what type of game this racuqet suite for ?
Also, I heard the racquet is $260 in Canada, but someone is selling on forum for $190, they say slightly used. Is it safe to buy used racquet here ? If condition is good $190 seems to be good price, but still alot of money, so I don't want make mistake.
thanks everyone.
Traum 03-29-2004, 05:06 PM I am not too sure what the Carb15 is like; however, if you have an agressive game, the AT700 could potentially suit you very well. However, if you are not used to head-heavy racquets, they will be a bit of a surprise. For starters, reflex shots will be more difficult to pull off because of the head-heaviness. Your swing speed will likely decrease by a bit as well, compared to an even balanced racquet.
The best way to get a better impression for yourself is to check out the racquet at a store or borrow it from someone else for a few swings. If you ask nicely, I'm sure other players wouldn't mind lending you the racquet to try it out for a few swings.

p.s. Oh, and one more thing about purchasing from the forum, I would think that the majority of the members here are honest and true. In particular, John Luu is a good guy, so it's pretty safe to buy stuff from him.
bluejeff 03-29-2004, 05:08 PM AT700 has nearly nothing in common comparing with Cab15Long, and I would suggest you to try out the racket at local stores if possible before you spend big bucks on it.
For more information about it, you can search the old threads.

Jsmash 03-30-2004, 04:03 PM Thanks for replies. I know Cab 15 is very different, now I find it does not provide me enough power. I tried MP-100 belonging to a friend and found that my stroke produced more power. Of course it would take time to get used to any racquet after switching from racquet used for so long ... but since I don't want to keep adjusting to different racquet want to make right move now! :)
What is fair price for used AT-700 ?
Thanks.
other 03-30-2004, 04:10 PM i would first try out the racquet in a shops sport....swing it etc, see what the balance is like. Then find it wherever it is cheapest, online other shops whatever. fair used price? depends on how used it is......i'd buy from shops personally, but if the price is right:)

I finally figure out how to put quote in my response !!
Price here in Canada is around $240 new, so I don't really want to spend that much if I can get a good condition one. I guess I'll have to see price difference between new and used one.

This is a very good question :)
From $1(broken) ~ $120(like new), depending on how bad/new is it

If racquet in very good condition you say $120 ? That means depreciate by 50% ? I was thinking $170 if in very good condition, since this would save me $70. Now I'm confuse
I guess I will have to think carefully. thanks you very much.

Bluejeff here is probably thinking in terms of US dollars. US$120 is about Cdn$160.
