I found that in Malaysia there are lots of ppls playing badminton but they seldom post or invite others to join. Is that because Malaysia’s players are lacking knowledge in using internet? or they are too selfish to shares with others?

Yah, agree on you as well but do you think that others country's players surf net very often? I may conclude the ppls in malaysia are active in playing but not social with others as what it described malaysian in one of the threat.

I never invite people to play because in all the venues I play there are about 10 people to a court for 2 hours,
even myself as a member rarely get a chance to play, let alone add members.

I'm not sure about your area but usually we don't use internet to invite others to play with us. Yea, we do play a lot of badminton (it's just that we are used to only invite our usual badminton partners to play). My area's badminton court facilities are always full, maybe due to the low price we have to pay, therefore we have to book ini advance. Usually most of us (at my area) just play for the fun of it with no professional training. BTW, wat do you mean my being too selfish to share with others? :)

i think eugene is refering to inviting ppl to BF as he mentioned posting and joining in the same sentence.

i believe there is a healthy number of Malaysian here in the forum, while more is of course better, but i don't think it is alarming low in number either.

I'm actually new in this forum as you can check how many post i had replied. when i 1st came to this forum i hardly see any threads talking relating malaysia's badminton issues, which not like canada, US and etc. Anyway, i'm happy to see some ppls replied to this thread in a short period and voice out their view.

mirrura,
I said "selfish to share with others" is b'coz malaysia is strong in badminton sport and they are so many ppls playing. why we hardly c any threads relating to badminton issues? besides, there is a thread "Can I join to play???" http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=14402 it doesn't seem got ppls reply.

P/S : I'm not against malaysia's badminton player. just wanna find out why. I'm
malaysian also.

Sounds like it could be either...
So which is it Eugene? :)

Anyway, here's my 5cents-
The people I play with are actually older/much older than me...
and in my case, these guys don't spend much time online, if any
at all :p I found them through friends, and was fortunate to be
invited in...

There are various reasons why most groups are closed... Some of
these reasons have been mentioned, eg. mirrura's & bbn's. I found
that there are groups that won't let anyone in unless they are of
certain standards... they just want more challenging games...
and I'm sure there are more reasons still...

It is hard for a novice to find groups unless he/she has a group
already. It becomes much easier if you're an intermediate or
better player. I guess you just have to ask around...

When I'm home (Dec-March) I play at SBA, Taman Megah, SS2
and occasionally the KFC courts in Subang... If anyone is
interested in a game during those months :D we can schedule
an advance appointment :D

Lol I think it's because we Malaysians have this phobia of 'online' people. :D

i think most people are like me....too lazy :D
most of the time, as mentioned above, i just read lol
signing up and posting is kinda tedious....prefer to just read :P

finally got myself to join this forum as my collegemates gone home 4 holidays, forced to seek ppl to play with.
