I never thought it will break , looks so strong :(

By the way, it did not clash with any rackets for this damage. Just stroking during warm-up, suddenly i look at racket , it is curved.

I guess my previous incident in the thread below had contributed to internal damage which eventually led to this, even though it looks like a 99.9% a paint crack.

OMG sorry to hear this.... by the what was the tension?

23 pounds, i never exceed 23pounds nowadays, anyway, i still think mp77 is the most sturdy racket i had.

If you look at my previous thread, "my Mp77 flung out of my hand..."
, it did fly and land flat, but i was convinced the hairline crack at the frame near the T-joint was a paint crack only, i took the grommet out and even check the internal surface with torch light and even the stringer said it is just a paint crack, maybe internally the graphite suffered some damage.

Strangely enough, out of my i never broke a racket due to normal death.

My first yonex, i never clash, one day i took it out of my bag, it was distorted :)

My 1st yang yang, i never clash, then my friend same yang yang clash and won unscathed over a ISO 900. then my friend n i was boasting on the racket strength, then that nite, i checked mine , it was cracked :)

My iso tour 800 also same, only when i went to get my racket from stringer then they show to me a crack.

The weirdest case is my toalson racket(no paint chip at all) , i just swing it a bit at home ,then pick up my mp77 swing a bit, then when i put back my mp77, i look at the toalson, it was curved , i thought my eyes had illusions, but it broke by itself :)

Then the last one is my mp77 :)

Yup! Hairline cracks can only grow:(. That's why we should always be very careful with our high-performance racquets no matter how durable they reputed to be.

oh!! my eyes!!!

Hey Kwun, what happen to ur eyes, the pics are too blurred?

Got no digital cam, so took it using sharp handheld cam, it is blurred.

Anyone think that i can take out and stick the metallic strips using superglue to another racket since anyway, i will throw away the racket?

Anyone tried this, those strips look quite heavy so can be used maybe on some old headlight racket :)

Hi Cappy75, the best i could find is "Where can i buy MP grommet?" and a series of article on how to make head heavy and lead tapes? Was there really a thread on whether it is possible and how to take out the MP strip and stick it to another racket and whether someone did it before?

Thanks

If you can get someone to bring your racquet to Hong Kong, you can have your MP77 repaired, with guarantee, for about HK $200, which includes free stringing and a string of your choice. The repairs are done by a racquet manufacturer in China. I have one of my two MP99 repaired recently, and all I can say is that it works. It plays as well as my other MP99. However, I will be doing another test on my repaired MP99, this time by cutting the BG65 string and stringing a BG85 string at 26 lbs to see if it will stress/crack the repaired site. After all, the repaired site is under guarantee.

Hmmm... not to my recollection. Perhaps you might wanna post the question in a seperate thread. As for transplanting MP strips, you could keep them as a spare for your new MP racquet. Other than that, I don't see much use in salvaging them:(.

wow....that's really major....
All rackets will break.....just the time matters.....
So you don't have to be too sad about it....people in this forum have plenty of this experience already :)
(I wonder, if we add up all people in BF, will we break at least one racket per day?:D)

Sad..another one bites the dust.

MP77s looks are deceiving. Seems "strong" yet in fact it's not that strong.

I don't recall MP77 as having durability problems when I went through the reviews.

Anyway..we all now know to give the racket better care...or just don't buy one if you can't afford it breaking.
