I've had a Cab7 where the shaft broke inside the handle and the racket just flew away (leaving me holding a handle like a chump), but anyway that handle is made of wood (some cheap stuff like eucalyptus or aspen), but another time when I'm changing the grip on my black knight and it's made out of some kind of stone. What is the standard anyway?

The better quality rackets still have their handles made of wood. I believe all Yonex rackets have wooden handles :)

Fischer has made the handle into Boron Graphite and called real one piece. But the final result is easily breaking in the shaft.

i remember at one badminton demonstration featuring some 'A' players, one of the players was using a Forza racket and the handle snapped. The handle was made of wood and I was quite surprised to see this breakage as we usually expect the material to be top notch. I guess that racket just happened to be the rotton apple of the bunch. :p
