Last night I was at my local sports gym playing badminton with at least 50 other people, and I noticed one of them was using a Yonex Boron-2. Now I know a Boron-2 is rare, and worth quite a bit, but I was wondering how much. It had orange strings, so I don't know if they were original or not, I'm not sure if the owner had a case to go with his, and it was a bit worn down, but still in great, if not perfect playing condition. Just some paint chips, old grip and some of the writing on the frame was smuged and a bit broken up. He thinks it is old and is time to buy a new racquet, so he is selling for a very good price, about 50-75$ CDN. I seem very interested in the offer, since the racquet isn't broken, in GREAT playing condition, but the only cons are that it has been heavily used, so the small paint chips, smudged writing on some of it's frame, old grip, possibly new strings and 50% chance no case. But it's not broken, and no signs of defects. I'm also not sure which country the Boron-2 was made in, didn't look(if it matters).

If it's heavily used, you can not tell if it's damaged internally by just looking at it. Further inspections are needed, so it won't snap after another restringing.

For collecting purpose, people tend to buy "mint" items, which means rackets that are light in chips and paints-offs. If a racket has many chips, then, it won't look good, and then, loses some of its value as a collecting item.

In fact that Boron 2 is easily to break. So, when buying the 2nd hand racket, please be carefull.

On the other hand, if the price is not too high, I would recommand trying this racket. I like it very much and I am still using it in competition.
