Hi guys,
I was curious about Karakal sl-70 and found out that there were 2 color for the sl-70. One is a bit bleuish and the other one is brown. Is it same racquet? Is it same racquet? One is newer version than the other one?
Thank you.

Hey thanx cooler^^
I dunno why but I had a feeling u would be the first one to answer my question :p
It's weird that the brown one is the newest version. Seem that they went from nice blue to dirty brown. But are they same spec? (weight, lenght, balance point....)
Also, I know there is some review about it, but what do you think of it?

it's too light and too short for me :) One has to get use to its light weight.

Yeah the darker colour is newer...
They are exactly the same specs.
But as Cooler mentioned, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too light.
You should search the equipment forum for threads on their products, as I had spoken about it long ago.

All the newer versions of Karakal racquets seem to play better than the older models somehow...even though they are the same specs. The coating on the racquets feels dry now, as opposed to smooth surface. I think the design schemes are much nicer.
SL-70 is the lightest racquet in the world, and it takes a while to adjust your smash if your current racquet is weighted with a large margin. I can get a good smash off of it.

I've heard about these rackets being shorter than normal, but my Karakal SL-70s (the tan version) are standard length. I like these rackets a lot; it is possible to get a decent amount of power out of them, and the maneuverability is unmatched for obvious reasons.
I recently tried a Yonex MP99 for the first time. Surprisingly, I found that the MP99 had a very similar "feel" to the SL-70. The MP99 is not *quite* as maneuverable but it is well-balanced and provides noticably more power on smashes and smash returns/backhand clears etc. When I can afford to buy new rackets again, I will probably swap my Karakals for MP99s.
Funny that two rackets, which are apparently so different, should actually "feel" alike :)
