it's unwind: to find something to do that release pent up stress and tension, like playing badminton :)
But WHY???? I know a lot of ppl living here wished they didn't... education too stressful; workload too much-pay too little; cars and houses too expensive etc. etc.

Ahh ... High ones ehh ...
Used to be like that too. Till I got to Uni ... *SIGH* ... when PASS was a relief !
... Haha .. glad that it not THAT bad, anyway, just make sure you concentrate when exams are round the corner. FOCUS!
.. And don't leave your 'unprocessed' schoolwork till its too late. By the way the S'pore school system works, its not difficult to get through unscathed if you can maintain the above 2 things in check at all times.
Study harder lor ... : p
u r mad, i've not been studying, not counting mother tongue in which a c6 is a relief, the rest r b3s to A1s, well, not counting Geography as well.

You should study ...
make sure you allocate sufficient time for both your passion for badminton as well as your need to study.
Set aside a fixed number of hours per week to study and make sure you fulfill it. When you're busy, shift it around, but at the end of the week, make sure you've fulfilled the quota. It worked well for me though.
It helped me get through Uni, so I don't see why not for secondary school? But honestly, I didn't really study seriously till my O'levels were due. But my grades weren't anything great either. Always around the average mark.
The key to success in the education system here is CONSISTENCY and STUDY SMART. If all else is rubbish, at least make sure you know what you don't know/ do not understand !! At least you'll know where to put the effort.
Have been filling out some of my forms for college and here's one thing I noticed:
City: Singapore
State: Singapore
Country: Republic of Singapore
