I have a bad asthma and Iīm still playing badminton on a high level. Now I have been wondering that is my asthma drugs doping when I use them?? I couldnīt live without them, I would probably die to an attac... The drugs doesnīt help me anyhow to be any better than other players they help me to be as normal as possible-try to open my lungs to a normal size. My lungs arenīt with drugs anyway as strong as they should be... A doctor has written a certification about this and I have it with me in all competitions.. Please give your opinions about this!!

i wouldn't be worry about it, doping is not the same as taking certified and prescribed drugs. Only at olympic level that officials get too overly cautious about any drugs. A canadian women rowing got disqualified from a silver medal because she was taking some off the counter cold/sinus medicine.

Doping in my understanting is taking substances to help you improve your performance beyond your physical capabilities and with negative effects to your health. Taking drugs relating to your health situation is not doping, in my opinion.

Morten Frost the famous Danish player also had asthma but that did not prevent him to become a top level player.

You need the drugs to survive. So don't worry, they will let is slide..not unless they want you to die, then their crazy.

i have a friend who is asthmatic and he plays in my school team. He keeps his inhaler with him by the court. Just in case he needs to take a dose. His asthma is also serious so without his medication, (to put it crudly) he would probably die too. Since its a "survival" thing, i don't think its considered doping
