llpjlau 03-30-2007, 11:18 AM No worries man.. there are many taxis around in Spore.. just stand at the roadside..and flag down the cabs with the green colour word "TAXI" on top. :D :D :D
i didnt know you could do that because singapore is such a strict and lawful country, so i thought that you could only wait/hail/flag a taxi at a proper taxi stand. haha, means i assumed wrongly.
kaizen 03-30-2007, 07:49 PM If you don't mind the sky high price, the 3U version is still available at Sportslink. $229.
Err, actually i do mind such a high price. So i usually stay away from stores such as Sportslink. They have one of the highest prices around in SG. So i was hoping someone could suggest me some of the places like queensway or bras basah. I had bought my NS8K from queensway for S$275, but tat was almost 2yrs ago. At that time sportslink was selling it for $300++. Hehe. So if u could, pls tell me other stores with their prices.
And i'm sorry i forgot to mention it earlier. I'm looking for 2U version, G4/5.
But anyway, _MyST_Spring, thanks for your info. I have taken note of it. If i can't find the T-i-10 anywhere else, then i might go for the one at Sportslink.

Haha, importantly is don't eat chewing gum while wait/hail/flag taxis by the road side.. haha.. :D

From my current info on hand, I doubt the existence of 2U version now. And, I don't know there is any store still carry old TI-10 other than Sportslink.

is gum like REALLY REALLY banned in singapore? what if you chew gum? what will happen?
JaCk™ 04-04-2007, 10:57 AM is gum like REALLY REALLY banned in singapore? what if you chew gum? what will happen?
i'm not a singaporean, so i don't know about it. many years ago, about fifteen years ago, it was really banned. you cannot even find chewing gum for sales in singapore. i don't know about the situation now. the thing is, i heard that singapore rackets are cheaper than malaysia. true??
Rendra 04-04-2007, 07:31 PM What I heard was that the Yonex rackets are cheaper in Singapore...and Yonext apparel as well. Worth making a trip there someday!:D
Sealman 04-04-2007, 08:28 PM is gum like REALLY REALLY banned in singapore? what if you chew gum? what will happen?
why dun you try and let us know if you are arrested?
can we stick to the topic now?
isben 04-06-2007, 06:52 AM Hi guys, I'm planning to get a ns9000X to replace my ns6000. Any idea how much it cost in the market now? 10 n 10 quote me 260. Possible to get one below 250?
JaCk™ 04-06-2007, 11:21 AM depends on how you bargain with the shop owner. the more you buy, the cheaper you can get. you can try to buy shoes and rackets at one go.
astro 04-08-2007, 11:18 AM Hi
Slacker and all forumers in singapore,
Was wondering if you all know the market price and place to get rackets from..
1) MP99 (3U/4U G5)
2) MP77 (3U G5)
3) Yang Yang Dragon
4) SOTX Woven 8/9/12
5) Yonex SHB 60,70,90,99,98 or any other cheap alike baddy shoes under $60 SGD
6) HI-tec Indoor Shoes
7) Yonex T-Shirts
If you can please let me know where it is i'll prob be shopping in Orchard Road/st so if there any badminton shops there on that road and directions would be helpful.. I'll be passing through singapore for half a day so will take taxi from airport so time is of the essence so if u guys know of any cheap place to get authentic yonex etc goods
Is any of these you i've read of places to buy near orchard road or couple minutes from.: Ranking, Zeneith, 10&10, Music Book 10&10,
Queensway or artic sport?
Your local knowledge on the best price and area would help me alot I have been one time to world of sports or something i think it was Ngeew yee wee on orchard road there was many levels got lost but not much yonex. Is World of sports there expensive should i stay away?
Sealman 04-09-2007, 06:17 AM astro, I doubt you will be able to get MP77 (3U G5) and Yang Yang Dragon in Singapore. For SOTX Woven 8/9/12, believe they are sold out at Classic Sports. For rest of your questions, the experts here can give you some input.
astro 04-10-2007, 07:41 AM Thanks Sealman,
Do you what sports stores there are on orchard road and if they stock MP-99 or yonex rackets?
Can sum1 with local knowlege assist?!
modious 04-10-2007, 08:08 AM Bras Basah Complex is nearest to Orchard.....
http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel.php?travel_site=12997&travel_id=928&star=1
There're a few shops there...... Namely 10&10 on the 1st floor, Zeneith Sports and Ranking on the 3rd floor. These shops will be your best bet for cheaper prices in town area.
Yang Yang Dragon is an old racket which I believe is hard to find nowadays.
SOTX rackets can only be bought at Classic Sports which is not within Orchard vicinity.
astro 04-10-2007, 10:08 PM Modious
thanks great info..
Do you know market price for
MP-99
Ti-10 (is new version not as good as old)?
Cab 30MS

Thanks
modious 04-11-2007, 10:26 AM I'm pretty certain those rackets you mentioned plus SHB shoes can be found in Bras Basah Complex.
I'm not too sure what's the market price for the rackets/shoes though. :o
Slacker 04-13-2007, 11:19 PM Hi Dudes.. FYI.. Sealman 04-16-2007, 09:17 PM Look out for a multi-storey carpark or a chicken rice kopitiam at the corner of the block if you couldnt find classic sports. :)

I believe some shops in Queensway sell RSL. But they're way overpriced in Singapore compared to Malaysia.

Try Ranking Sports at 3rd level Bras Basah Complex opposite Raffles Hotel. Not sure about BG80 prices but was quoted S$68 for 10 packs of BG66. Probably the cheapest in town imho.
Jurong 06-28-2007, 05:22 AM Thanks sealman, will be checking out Ranking Sports, when I in S'pore.

gsloh 06-28-2007, 08:38 AM Just got some BG80 in Spore earlier this month:
at Classic sports its SGD10 per pack
At 10n10 I was quoted SGD8.50 per pack
utopia_imminent 06-28-2007, 09:53 AM i think 10n10 would quote u cheaper on strings(minus the labour).
Pureskill 06-29-2007, 12:14 AM Just something to share with you, if you are interested.
I just came back having lunch at Sun Plaza today. I walked past Sportslink and they are having offers for Yonex badminton rackets. Here are some of the price quotes:
Yonex AT150: $99.95 :p
Yonex AT250: $109.95 :p
Yonex MP23 Power: $89.90 :p
Yonex NS900: $329
And I also called Sintec Sportscity (Bedok's branch) yesterday, I got the following price quotes:
Yonex AT150: $120
Yonex AT250: $120
Yonex MP99: $175 (with string)
Yonex AT900P/T: $220 :D
Yonex AT800: $245 (new colour)
For your info, you can still bargain with the staff at Sintec Sportscity in Bedok.
zzz... 06-29-2007, 12:40 AM Yonex AT800: $245 (new colour)
For your info, you can still bargain with the staff at Sintec Sportscity in Bedok.
Wha? There is a AT800 new colour?, Thought it's going to be discontinued?
Pureskill 06-29-2007, 12:51 AM I called them to ask about any special offer, and they claimed they have offers on Yonex and Sintec rackets. I am not interested in Sintec, so I get the staff to quote me a few prices for Yonex rackets. And when I was quoted $220 for AT900P/T, and quoted $245 for AT800, the shop assistant told me it is new colour, as I wondered why AT800 is more expensive than AT900. Anyway, I don't know about the discontinuation of AT800.
Wha? There is a AT800 new colour?, Thought it's going to be discontinued?
-Silver- 06-29-2007, 04:09 AM i think is AT700 ba.

cheez 08-12-2007, 05:54 PM I am looking for a good racket costing around S$100. Any recommendations? My old one which just died was Yonex MP28, now I'm on to my backup Wilson V14.

llpjlau 08-13-2007, 04:12 AM go by World of Sports or some other big branches (eg Stadium in Ngee Ann City) and get one of them Wilson rackets. they usually go for below S$100 and are pretty good.

S$100 is a substantial budget. Can consider a few brands such as Hart/Toalson/Pro Kennex which are under S$100. Wilson's at RSH are possibilities though i wouldn't recommend n2/n4/n6....maybe n7 or n8 or nSurge....should be within your budget. Apacs clones would be way below your budget but playable racquets. Happy sourcing....can go to the commonly mentioned places such as Queensway, Bras brasah, Toa payoh and Sembawang.
coleismybear 08-13-2007, 10:51 AM can someone reply me on updated prices of AT900T and MP99 please? thanks!
vince_kan 08-13-2007, 10:56 AM can someone reply me on updated prices of AT900T and MP99 please? thanks!
Should be around 255 for AT900T and 195 for MP99...
coleismybear 08-13-2007, 10:57 AM MP99 really so ex? was thinking it's around 160
vince_kan 08-13-2007, 10:59 AM MP99 really so ex? was thinking it's around 160
That is if you can find MP99....i dont think the stock is that available recently...but do check out the stores for more info....160 is too low for a high end Yonex model....possible perhaps if you purchase the racquet without string or bag....
On the other hand, if you can find 160 for new MP99 with strings and bag....do post the lobang....wouldn't mind getting one too.
wocdam 08-13-2007, 11:04 AM the shop in bukit timah still have 1 MP99, $195
cheez 08-13-2007, 12:17 PM Thanks guys.
Apacs.. I've heard mixed remarks about it.
Ideally I don't want another Wilson for now.
Pro Kennex sounds good, or Winex/Sotx which I have tried before.
So I suppose Sembawang has them? From previous threads it seems they are quite a good stockist.
llpjlau 08-14-2007, 09:18 AM pro kennex are a bit pricey i think. sotx as well. cheaper alternatives would be APACS
zangetsu_hollow 08-15-2007, 04:59 AM the shop in bukit timah still have 1 MP99, $195
can tell the shop name and its location(near where)?
coleismybear 08-15-2007, 05:32 AM can tell the shop name and its location(near where)?
buy from uncle lim from sembawang @ his house, 9 sembong road, opposite the old sembawang shopping. MP99 only 185
-Silver- 08-31-2007, 03:17 AM Any new price updates?
(trying to make this thread alive and kicking :D)
llpjlau 08-31-2007, 03:25 AM whats the best value for money racket in singapore?
(trying to help Silver make this thread alive and kicking)
wocdam 09-02-2007, 03:15 AM currently the best value for money will be victor. PW11/12 going for $125, SW31/32 SuperNanos Pro, Artery Tec Ti 98/99 going for $135. give those a try. a simple guide would be those with odd numbered are with stiff shaft and frame. others are rated medium flex.
-Silver- 09-02-2007, 05:07 AM Are these prices quoted from gala sports at queensway?
wocdam 09-02-2007, 05:39 AM Gala is one of those who quoted these prices. i got the average from about 3-4 places
-Silver- 09-02-2007, 06:04 AM oh, can tell me where else got sell superwaves 32? kinda interested in it. :D

I agree with you. Anyway i saw the Head models, the Metallix 10000 is retailing at $259  and i find the racquet not value for money. SOTX quality still way much better. Will give Wilson Kfactor and Head Metallix a miss unless they have a super duper offer i.e. less than 70 bucks each, i dont mind buying to test test....:D

llpjlau 09-09-2007, 05:51 AM yea, will wait for the offer. $259 is way too overpriced. thats the price of high-end yonex rackets.

I saw it at WOS. Don't think it's worth it...they must really come up with some promotion that slashes much of the price.....otherwise i cannot imagine anyone paying that kinda money for those racquets.
-Silver- 09-09-2007, 09:21 AM yup, totally not worth it. Rather spend the money on sotx racket or court shoes or even shuttlecock. lol. Birdie getting expensive nowadays. :(
wocdam 09-10-2007, 07:16 AM oh, can tell me where else got sell superwaves 32? kinda interested in it. :D
Kemin still have superwaves 31, i just bought the remaining superwaves 32 today:D both rackets are roughly the same, only that 32 is less stiff than 31. imho, 31 will be a more powerful racket, but i chose 32 cos my forearm needs something more forgiving.

wow, mind writing up a review after u test it? :D
wocdam 09-11-2007, 09:35 AM Victor Super Waves 32 (4UG2)
Initial feel: light, much lighter than my PW11. the balance of the racket is roughly between balanced to headlight. swing is easy, can't really feel or hear the racket cutting through air.
Looks: Eye catching yellow color, the grommets are also similar to that of Power waves series. the waves on the inside of the frame is colored in red though.
First game: I just got the racket yesterday, got it strung with BG68ti at 25x27lbs. first feel is that the racket swing is definitely good, highly maneuverable. lobs were easy with little impact on the forearm. clears easily. drop shots and smashes were quite accurate. i felt that the racket head was quite stable and i was able to return hits to where i intended.
Overall: I did not have enough time to try the racket, having played only 45mins. However, based on my feel of the racket compared with PW11 which i have used for the past 3 weeks, I would rate this racket highly(maybe higher than PW in future). It's definitely a racket for player who plays a lot of drops and go for placement, but yet require the power to 'kill' the game. although smash power is less than what you can garner from power wave series(as expected), but for intermediate to advanced player with an all round game, this would be a racket worth trying. Another plus point is that you can still feel the shuttle with the dampening on the racket as compared to the blunt feel of PW11. also the medium-stiff flex is more forgiving on the forearm than my stiff PW11, which makes it easy to sustain longer rallies.
coleismybear 09-11-2007, 11:40 AM nice review ! feel like trying it myself

U may try Classic Sport Trading for these rackets but I think Mr Soh might not carry the stock now. In Shanghai, Woven will cost u around S$138.5, if strung with YY BG80. As for SOTX STB 8080+ will be about S$83/- if strung with YY BG 80.;) For yr information only.

Nice look ! I like the 'HEAD' at the frame, I think Donna Kellogg using the silver metalic piece! :)

where and how much? (in singapore)
lovegas 10-17-2007, 10:16 AM Actaully i saw the arcsaber being delivered into chau beng last friday while i was waiting for him to check whether there is any more stock on my prefer AT900T 3ug4. He try to push Arc saber to me instead coz it seems they run out of 3u models in singapore and he need to take some time to place order.
Out of curiousity, i took 1 from the box (with owner permission of coz) and examine/ swing it. The cover that comes with it is somewat unlike anything that yonex have come up with b4, something like a saber cover(curvy). The racket itself, my initial feel is something like a ns7000 but a bit more headheavy and the handle feel longer then my At 900t. But the overall impression, is that it feel average compare to other higher end models.
Best part is that it cost ONLY $279  but i believe it will be cheaper if any (serious buyer) bros here ask for the discounted price from him.
wocdam 10-17-2007, 11:03 AM Best part is that it cost ONLY $279  but i believe it will be cheaper if any (serious buyer) bros here ask for the discounted price from him.
*faints* $279 is much higher than what i was quoted for NS9K.
lovegas 10-17-2007, 11:12 AM Yup SGP 279
Initially i thought it was a mid range model as review here, not worth it in my opinion as AT900 cost only abt 250-265 but ppls who appreciate it might find it worthwhile.
Sidetrack a bit is that when i went to collect my rackets today, the owner told me that he din manage to sell a single saber racker yet.
chgoh25 10-17-2007, 07:32 PM probably still not many people know of this new racquet :)
quark_816 10-17-2007, 09:19 PM Arcsaber 7 is new in the market maybe people don't know it exist yet. hey lovegas does your badminton store sells online or ships overseas?
lovegas 10-17-2007, 09:31 PM probably still not many people know of this new racquet :)
Maybe ppls are stun by the price ;) eg me:eek: ! but @ least chau beng have better attitude than galas uncle when i ask for pricing:rolleyes:.Another thing to point out is that now, most shops carry the AT900T in 4u now (900P still unchange) eg classic, most queenways shops... So any bros here looking for 3u version might have to order.
Chau Beng and Classic give me the reasons that all his customers are looking for 4u and 4u are better all this . Any bros know any alternative reasons.. for example, problem with 3u batches or simply techique are heavier then power as pointed out in 1 of the thread, thats y yonex revised it to 4u?
lovegas 10-17-2007, 09:35 PM Actaully I don't know but you can try calling the shop @ 64745668 extension from your country i am not too sure. Nice uncle and his stringing is recommended.
llpjlau 10-18-2007, 04:18 AM you can't expect anybody to buy it for $279.
Sealman 10-25-2007, 01:58 AM just dropped by 10n10 Bras Basah during lunchtime and 'touched' the ArcSaber 7. Didnt ask for price.... cosmetics reminded me of the new ti-10.... thought the frame design similar to mp series.... guess the clones will appear soon... :)
also saw the new color ns8000.... very ugly indeed...
-Silver- 10-25-2007, 04:48 AM sintec selling arcsaber 7 for $288
llpjlau 10-25-2007, 05:02 AM gosh, way overpriced.
Xinguy 10-25-2007, 05:21 AM sintec shop at tamp the price there for everything is abit to high...
lovegas 10-25-2007, 06:01 AM Any one can confirm my guess that they are phasing out AT900t in 3u , went to classic and queensways and can only find them in 4u. Is there a problem with the 3u? Fyi 900p still comes in 3u.
Sealman 10-25-2007, 09:28 PM believe different batches of U are released by sunrise at different periods. guess you have to try other shops or wait patiently for the next batch of 3u AT900T.

seatiger 11-10-2007, 06:42 AM Hi, I am very new to the game. Any other durable and cheap shuttlecocks to recommend? And where can I get them? Read that protech pt-10 and RSL 7 are good for their prices, where can I find them in Singapore?
_MyST_Spring 11-10-2007, 06:54 AM Actually I find Yonex Nylon shuttles are quite durable if you don't mind the sound it produces.
wocdam 11-10-2007, 08:30 AM protech pt-10 should be around 26-27 per tubes, almost all shops carries that. RSL 7 i did not see, but RSL tourney #1 is about 23-25 per tube, also available at most shops. why not give sealion a try too?

shanepaul86 11-16-2007, 09:55 AM Hi guys,
May i know the price of BG66, BG80 and BG68ti in Singapore???
Thx
punchclear 11-16-2007, 10:10 AM You mean... inclusive of stringing, I presume?
BG 66 : SGD 14-16
BG 80 : SGD 16-18
BG 68Ti : SGD 16-18
Above are shop prices (yup, some shops charge more than others)...
shanepaul86 11-18-2007, 09:38 AM Wow, so expensive!!!
I actually going to visit Singapore and thinking of buying a bunch of string back to Malaysia if the string is cheaper in Singapore. If that the case, haha maybe will only get my racquet string there only.
punchclear 11-18-2007, 10:30 AM That's what most shops charge for stringing...
You might wanna try getting direct from Sunrise (min order is 10 x strings).
I used to be able to get BG 66 at $8/- & BG 80 at $9/- but my 'source' has switched jobs...:crying::(
I was always under the impression that strings & stringing (both) cost less 'NORTH of the causeway'...:confused::confused:

unlikely, given the price of AS7. AT900 is slightly cheaper, and NS9k also around same price. rather go for those 2 models

BadFever 12-04-2007, 08:45 PM Hi guys,
Christmas is coming soon. Anyone know of any special sales happening around S'pore. My friend is looking for either NS8K or NS9KS. Thanks in advance. :)
llpjlau 12-04-2007, 10:52 PM since most of the equipment sold in singapore cost considerably lower than the RRP, i dont think there would be many, if any, christmas specials.
from what i heard in the past, ns8k is about $210-220 and ns9k $230-240.
