Sintec is the store name right? Is it near Tampines sports hall? Towards interchange direction or away from it?

Sintec is also a brand for Badminton racket ........

Thanks I also just found out that Sintec Bedok branch is just a 5 min walk from my place. Too bad its closed on sun/p.holiday, I just went there this morning. In the end I made a trip to 10n10 and Classic Sports. Now waiting for Sintec to open to compare price. ^^

Besides 10n10/ClassicSports/Sintec, where else can I buy apacs rackets?

Hi All,

My teammate has a old AT-700. He offered to sell it to me cause he knows that I love AT-700.

It is already 2 - 3 years old.

How much should I pay him?

Thanks in advance.

if you wanna buy Apacs, maybe can try to find at Johor Bahru ........

for Sintec, the one at Bedok is closed on Sun/P. Holiday, but the ones at Tampines and Jurong are still open

Well... I am currently using Arc Saber 10.

I have been using AT-700 previously, and it was one of my favorite. I personally prefer the old model to new model. Well... just the feel of it...

Many chips. Just wonder what price should I pay him. Usually... I am the one to suggest prices within the club...:D

A brand new AT-700 is S$205. An old one should be $100 - $120, with a couple of chips. I am thinking of paying S$90/--.

Thanks.

Get me his contact info... and I might offer more :p
The old AT-700 is a fine piece of heavy artillery.

I know, it jerked me!

You are right, most probably I will have to reexamine the racket for cracks. If there are no cracks, I will try to offer him a better price. I am asking for opinion because I do not want to short change my fellow members.

Old hand, thanks for jerking my mind.

If u want apacs racket, u can go to Tampines Sintec shop and look for ah bao. He can help u order the racket you want from malaysia. Pricing depend on which racket you have ordered.

AT800de 3U still available in Ranking, Bras Basah, couple of pcs left, price depends on bargaining power liao....

found 2 x at800de at queensway... one 3ug4 at sports interlink and the other 3ug5 at a new outlet on the 2nd level... sticker price S$249. didnt see any at800de on display at ranking sports and too afraid to ask the fierce lady :)

around 2006 when I communicated via e-mail with SOTX China, they referred me to Arctic Sembawang as their partner in Singapore, while that time only Classics Toa Payoh which sold SOTX in Singapore.

I believe there is a change of partnership already, which made BadmintonMarket as Authorized Distributor of SOTX in Singapore .....

BadmintonMarket used to be an authorized distributor, but am bowing out of the sotx scene, so I am no longer authorized distributor, but for official distributor, both of us are official distributors. Currently, there are no authorized distributor in Singapore as from september 2008.

I am letting go of my sotx products now. After this batch, i will no more be selling sotx. So if anyone is interested, can pm me for price negotiations.

Hope this clear the doubts.:)

Next time you could try having your rackets strung at Yonex showroom (Central World Plaza 3rd Level) using the ES 5 Pro machine. I tried 24lbs, which felt like 27lbs here in Singapore. The stringers will not go beyond the maximum tension indicated on the Yonex rackets.

BTW Artric and Classic charge $6 if you BYO strings.

Do you have any recommendation? I only have a budget of not more that S$65 for a brand new racket. Currently, I am using apacs 90 which is a clone of Yonex nanospeed 9000. It can string with high tension at 28lbs(Max). The problem is this racket is make of carbon and aluminium which has alot of vibration for hard hitting and not very stable for controlling. Thanks.

Agree that clone can never match the original Yonex racket feeling. I am looking for a lesser vibration and more controlling racket. Apacs on the above link is another clone racket with carbon and aluminium racket which I believe is the same as my Apacs 90. Both racket can for high tension (<30lbs). Hmm... hard to decide. Don't think of getting another Apacs which has the same feeling as my Apacs 90.

Agree that a clone can never has the same feeling as Yonex original racket. I tested my cousin Yonex AT900T(Original). The feeling is different compare to Apacs racket. That's why I am looking for a full carbon racket. The above link is another clone of Yonex from Apacs which is carbon and alumimium that can string at high tension(<30lbs). hmm..hard to decide. Don't feel like getting another Apacs which play like my Apacs 90.

Guys. I own Apacs and Yonex rackets. Currently using Yonex AT900P. Honestly, Apacs clone racket does have much more vibration than Yonex. In fact, if you walk into a shop and ask the saleman to tight Yonex racket @ 28lbs. Guess what he will say? NO. For Apacs, although is a much cheaper racket, the saleman will not hesitate to do it for you. From the response of the saleman, my opinion for both apacs(clone of yonex) and original yonex do have differents in material used in manufacture. Aside to Yohan66, S$60 can hardly get you a good racket. Especially a racket build in full carbon with T-Joint. Beware of the dealer.

In my opinion, stringers do not want to string yonex rackets at such high tensions because of 2 reasons,
1) Its part of the gimmick of selling the clone rackets, because those clones might give them higher profit margin. The normal sentence would be (Buy this "clone", can take higher tensions, and cheaper as well)
2) The stringer do not want to go through the hassle of earning that $7-$10, and risk having to replace the $200+ racket and spoil his reputation as a stringer.

I have strung Yonex rackets(At700, At900T/P etc) at 28lbs before, with no problems. But of course, go to your regular stringer if you want to tension at such high tensions, if the stringer's skill is lousy, of course, 28lbs will cause the racket frame to collapse. :) Find a reliable stringer, and just stick to him.:)

If the stringer know the customer well enough, he will probably do it. At 28lbs, even the stringer is skillful, just don't get a light crash in double game. The racket might not be able to withstand any crash and will break easily. A clone from Apacs is good to crush any yonex ever with 28lbs tension on it. Haha.. Why those full carbon racket don't just spray the racket in black. Is definitely better than a piece of metal.

"A" and "i" almost the same, just cosmetic painting.
"+" is not under Power Boss technology but under Hertzian Waves technology which new development for current Power Boss.
"+" is shorter cos only 675mm and tension also lower to max 28lbs only (both "A" and "i" are 680mm and max 30lbs), but price is USD 13 more (for retail price).

But, if you live in Singapore you may get cheap price. We can discuss for pricing via PM.

I will order woven-11A/i/+ by end of October 2008 along with Woven-7/7i.

you're getting a good price for the racket already, i got my at900t + bg66 + bag 712 at $245. see if shop owner can throw in a big bag for each racket?;):D:p

I've seen AT900T for SGD195 so it's not that great of a deal.

Hi, please let us know where you can get a brand new AT900T for SGD195.
SP version or ?

From what I know, a brand new AT900 SP cost around SGD250.

a TH coded 4U AT900T would probably cost around sgd195, not likely a SP coded 3U spec though...:(

Can anyone unequivocally tell me that racquets with different codes are actually different quality?

I have an email here from both a Thai and Vietnamese retailer that states unequivocally that all Gosen racquets in a particular model are exactly the same worldwide.

Is this the same with Yonex, or do they do something dodgy like call say the AT900T the 'AT900T', but downspec some aspect of it depending on the country that orders it?

Or is it just snobbery? :)

Strange. We did not mention anything about difference in quality. Obviously, we are talking about the AT900T SP in our posts when you came in and said that you can get it SGD195.

We need to verify whether it is the SP version or not. If it is the TH version, we all know that the racket can be purchased at a much lower price.

Even if there is no difference in quality, they only come in 4U in thailand.

wos's head racquets are pre-strung (outsourced to artric sports as i understand).

classic sports should be able to give a more competitive pricing than wos. and you could select the string/tension. not sure about chau beng's pricing.

You can not find W9A in Singapore from official agent anymore .....

you may find APACS at many shop, but only 1 shop that has relation with the APACS Co-owner.

my friend bought directly from APACS Co-owner since my friend is a sole-distributor for Indonesia, so this is Owner-to-Distributor matter .....
so if you can not find AMP 95 in Singapore maybe because of distributionship agreement.
It is found easily in Canada, in Indonesia and maybe in Malaysia, but very hard to get in Singapore ....

Dink-A-Lot has many of AMP 95 .....:D

Price in Indonesia is Rp 850,000 for AMP Series (88, 90, 95) ..... I can help you if you wanna get it coz I will be in Indonesia end of this month till new year .... http://bulutangkis.com/mod.php?mod=diskusi&op=viewdisk&did=1018 (sorry all in Indonesian language)

If you want to check the stock of APACS rackets, give Anthony from 10&10 Sports a call. He's the distributor for APACS in Singapore so if he says there isn't stock, then there really isn't anymore stock.

There's another badminton shop in queensway. On the second floor, there is another indian shop. Cant remember the name of the shop but it is along the long stretch of the shop. Seems to be the competitor for the newlink sports.

Btw at east point shopping mall, there is a badminton shop call Smash sports (i think) on the second floor (near the escalator). That is the 2nd outlet of newlink sports.

Hi Everyone,

I will be traveling to Singapore with my family for bout 2 months and I dont intend on bringing my rackets with me but to buy new rackets to play with while I am there. So can someone help me out with pricing for some selected rackets that I am intending to buy.

1. Arcsaber 10
2. MP 99 or MP 100
3. AT 900
4. AT700
5. Nanospeed 9000X or S
6. Ti 10

And where are some good bargain/buy for Yonex rackets these days in Singapore and where can I get the best deal?

Thanks so much in advance for your help
Kevin

Look up a few posts...... I have compiled a few shops with their contact numbers and address.

For Yonex rackets, I guess the best places to go will be Classic Sports, Bras Basah Complex, Queensway Shopping Centre, Artric Pacific Sports or MB Sports Trading.

It's best to call and ask yourself as regular customers might be able to get slightly lower pricing than others. Rem to call and check for availability of the rackets before heading down.

Hi Kevin,

The list of shops posted by modious would be able to provide good pricing. The most important part is that it might be best to have someone who frequent that particular shop to make the trip with you in order to get the best possible deal.

From what I've seen, the three places to avoid when purchasing badminton-related stuff are:

1. Royal Sporting House
2. World of Sport
3. Mustafa

Ridiculous prices, zero product knowledge and defunct variety :(

wocdam is quoting the prices sold at Mustafa Shopping Centre (Sgbad was asking). Do note it is not one of the places I recommend buying from.

AT900 should cost about S$240, definitely not above S$300.

That's why I termed Mustafa's prices as ridiculously high.

The 900 series racquets have price labels that defy all sales logic!

Everytime, I go to Queensway, I will go to this indian shop to check out their stocks and prices. One fine day, this indian wishpered behind my back - "Everytime come but never buy heh?" as I stepped out of the shop. I turned back and had a short argument with him along the corridor. :D

I believe Soh would not have used phases like 'degrading'.

I understand that he had strung his personal woven7s (with the old logo) at high tension as well as the latest batch with the 'new logo' and found the frames of the 'old version' to be more 'stable' than the latest batches.

I have ever asked similar question as well directly to SOTX.

The Woven-7 (old and new logo) has similar specification, and both up to 31 lbs (recommended 28lbs).

Spendork strung his Woven-7 at Arctic and Classics both at 29 lbs, so far no problem (he strung at Arctic first, then cut the string and restrung at Classics a week later).

Just got info that Arctic Pacific sold Woven-7 (but no idea which batch) for SGD 135 only, but sold out. New stock will be next month.

So shocked to hear the quality is different .
You know the difference of the old version and the new version is just the painting of the logo....

Can painting change the quality of the racket???

But then again, we have to take everything with a pinch of salt. Of course, Mr Soh can say anything he wants now that he is no longer selling SOTX rackets. ;)

In Queensway Shopping Centre, is there any shop that sells Racquet Bags and Badminton shorts for a reasonable price? How much is it usually? Thanks

The prices in Queensway are generally quite similar. If you are a regular of a particular shop, of course the prices should be (but not necessarily) slightly lower than the others. Just take a walk around and buy from the cheapest shop.

Hi everyone,

I'll be in Singapore in 2 weeks, and am after a couple of racquets. However, the aussie dollar is very low (almost equal to Singapore dollar but SGD is slightly stronger) at the moment, so it seems like it would actually be cheaper buying the racquets in Sydney!

The best prices I've got is from a shop here but prices will go up starting next week. What do you think of these prices? Should I get the racquets here or in Singapore?

- Arc Saber 10 - $219
- Arc Saber 7- $199
-Armortec 900 Power - $229
-Armortec 900 Technique - $229
-Armortec 700 - $219

Yes I will be buying all these racquets... Arc Saber 10's for me and my friends are after the others.

AUD... but because SGD is slightly stronger than AUD... we can just assume it's 1:1 atm.

Hmmm..... why is the ARC 10 cheaper than AT 900?

Anyway if those are the prices you can get in Australia, then there isn't a need to buy from Singapore seriously.

An ARC 10 cost ~S$265.

@modious,

I have no idea why the ARC 10 is cheaper than AT 900 but I'm not complaining!

Thanks for your reply man you rock! I'm going to rush down at lunch time to buy it!

@modius:

I thought I posted a message to thank you earlier on in the day but I can't see it.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the tip and I've just bought the Arc Saber 10 for AUD$219... I think I just got lucky with this one cause badminton isn't popular in Sydney (although it should be!) and it's extremely difficult finding people who sell a good range of Yonex racquets here.

@modius:

Dunno why but none of my posts are making it through! I made 2 attempts but the thread didn't update.

Anyway wanted to thank you for your price check and I just bought the Arc Saber 10 a few minutes ago for AUD$219.

I think I got lucky with this one as badminton isn't popular in Sydney (it should be!) and only a handful of shops stock a good range so there's no competition.

From what I've seen, the three places to avoid when purchasing badminton-related stuff are:

1. Royal Sporting House
2. World of Sport
3. Mustafa

Ridiculous prices, zero product knowledge and defunct variety :(

1. Royal Sporting House = Cheap Wilson racquets :D K-Tour/K-Blaze etc.
2. World of Sport = Mizuno shoes [membership discount plus extra discounts]
3. Mustafa = supercheap Yonex strings & beta/gamma grips and wilson overgrips. Yonex BG66 for $6.99 & NBG95 $12

But generally Yonex racquets are super ex in those places.

From what little I know, myths involve mythical people, objects and events.
They do not involve real people walking around in real (nicked & red) shoes.

Moral: This is no myth! :D

You might want to check how old those strings are.
That might explain why they are suddenly 'supercheap'

SNG = Singapore ?

Anyway, RSL racquets not available in Singapore. I just traded one of my RSL Diamond with a friend. Nearest place to get a RSL racquet is in Malaysia. For the X2, it should set you back by S$140.

Victor SW31/32 should be able to get for around S$130. I think for Victor, Singapore is probably one of the cheaper place.

I think the Lethal is between S$150 - S$170. Might be cheaper as that's the list price but because I wasn't considering getting it, did not ask if price can be further discounted.

So far, it has some favourable reviews, do a search on the forum, you will find your answers.
