Zhao 05-05-2004, 05:25 AM Do you have some news about the passport of players like : Pi Hongyan Wang Chen Albertus Njoto Agus Thanks ! ;) Zhao 05-06-2004, 11:32 AM Is it sure they will play at the Olympic ??? Syaoran_Style 05-06-2004, 11:50 AM For hongyan it's not sure, we wait, we wait, we just wait the deadline in on the 21 july after...she will be obligate to stay at home. BUT I PRAY FOR IT!!! hahahahha :D Zhao 05-09-2004, 01:56 PM No news for the others ? Cheung 05-18-2004, 11:04 PM Wang Chen- yes Agus - no Albertus - no and therefore Liu Kwok Wa - no Olympics SmartCivet 05-19-2004, 12:00 AM If you can read chinese ,you can find something in the article: http://sports.sina.com.cn/s/2004-05-19/0904246628s.shtml Zhao 05-19-2004, 05:08 AM It's a shame for Agus, Albertus and Liu if they won't play Olympics. But is it sure ??? Zhao 05-24-2004, 03:31 AM Please. Can you translate for me this article??? http://sports.sina.com.cn/s/2004-05...04246628s.shtml Thanks !!! Cheung 05-24-2004, 09:58 AM It's a shame for Agus, Albertus and Liu if they won't play Olympics. But is it sure ??? Yes. Of course it is a shame edwin 05-25-2004, 11:14 AM Yes. Of course it is a shame Did Chan Chi Choi and other coaches know that Njoto is ineligible to play in the Olympics before the qualification period begun? I'm so surprised that Liu Kwok Wah didn't play more Mixed doubles with Koon Wai Chee during the Olympic Qualification Period. There was a time when they were ranked within top 16 in the world during 2002, and they would have a good chance of qualifying for the Oympics had they play in more tournaments. Now, it seems that neither Liu nor Koon will play in the Olympics (I'm assuming that Koon won't be able to get in eventhough she's first on the waiting list in WD). It too is a shame that Koon won't be there :(. Cheung 05-25-2004, 07:24 PM Good question. I remember reading the passport status of the athelete is a recent requirement of the IOC (please check this) and therefore this may not have been accounted for in the plans for the team. Zhao 06-11-2004, 03:07 PM Hongyan is FRENCH !! That's great for Olympic's competition :p edwin 07-02-2004, 08:03 AM Looks like the Olympic Qualifying list has been updated. The list for Men's Doubles are: http://www.worldbadminton.net/Portal/documents/Qual_MD_040630.htm From this list, it seems that Liu/Njoto are selected for the Olympics (in the Men's singles list, it says Agus is not selected). Do you know whether this is official? Has there been a change in Njoto's citizenship status? Cheung 07-02-2004, 10:21 AM Not since a few weeks ago when I spoke to him and not according to the article that came out in our local paper 2 days ago. HK ladies doubles pair sneaks in though. Wang Chen out with a mystery ailment but still should be able to play in the Olympics. Zhao 07-19-2004, 06:11 AM  I don't understand why Liu/Njoto are out of the last Olympic list. Look Worldbadminton.net... seven 07-19-2004, 07:36 AM Njoto has finally received his citizenship and will compete in the olympics. edwin 07-19-2004, 09:15 AM Njoto has finally received his citizenship and will compete in the olympics. But World Badminton.net already indicates that Liu/Njoto are not selected. Assuming that it got its info from the HK Olympic Committee, can HK's Olympic Committee change its mind the last minute and still send Liu/Njoto to the competition? seven 07-19-2004, 09:32 AM I don't know about that... I got my information from Raphael Sachetat's article (http://www.badzine.info/news.asp?id=380) (in french), but I don't know any more than that... edwin 07-19-2004, 10:15 AM I don't know about that... I got my information from Raphael Sachetat's article (http://www.badzine.info/news.asp?id=380) (in french), but I don't know any more than that... The article is dated July 5th. An educated guess would be worldbadminton.net's info is more accurate and updated; but let's all wait until July 21st before knowing whether Njoto and Liu are out or in. Afterall, worldbadminton.net has made mistake in the past :) seven 07-19-2004, 10:35 AM Njoto is finally not eligible to play in the olympics, the list of players has been given just a few minutes ago on worldbadminton.net (http://www.worldbadminton.net/Portal/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=10&ItemID=1532&cnt=1&action=1280x1024). |
