Did Chan Chi Choi and other coaches know that Njoto is ineligible to play in the Olympics before the qualification period begun? I'm so surprised that Liu Kwok Wah didn't play more Mixed doubles with Koon Wai Chee during the Olympic Qualification Period. There was a time when they were ranked within top 16 in the world during 2002, and they would have a good chance of qualifying for the Oympics had they play in more tournaments.

Now, it seems that neither Liu nor Koon will play in the Olympics (I'm assuming that Koon won't be able to get in eventhough she's first on the waiting list in WD). It too is a shame that Koon won't be there :(.

I remember reading the passport status of the athelete is a recent requirement of the IOC (please check this) and therefore this may not have been accounted for in the plans for the team.

From this list, it seems that Liu/Njoto are selected for the Olympics (in the Men's singles list, it says Agus is not selected). Do you know whether this is official? Has there been a change in Njoto's citizenship status?

The article is dated July 5th. An educated guess would be worldbadminton.net's info is more accurate and updated; but let's all wait until July 21st before knowing whether Njoto and Liu are out or in. Afterall, worldbadminton.net has made mistake in the past :)
