Tom Cheung, aka as AH Tung, of Inksysport says that he can get hold of supplies of AT800, DE and OF, SP version sometime next week. If so I hope this will quench the pent-up demand in Hong Kong. As the AT800 is priced at the AT700 price in Japan, I would think the AT800/A700 price parity will also prevail in Hong Kong. If the AT800 is priced higher than the AT700, then maybe we should wait a little for the supply/demand law to iron out the kinks.

That's great :) now HK has it.
By the way, are there also other AT rackets coming?

There is a lower model, Armotec-300, which is mainly for kids and students. If you have the AT800, don't bother with the AT300, unless you want to get one for the younger kids.

Just checked with Inskysport on the price of the Amortec 800 SP version and he gave a tentative quote of HK$1,070 (presumedly strung with BG85 or BG68Ti). Told him to do better, like something closer to the AT700 SP price.
I understand in Japan, the AT800 is discounted at a lower price than the AT700.

I think HK seems always get new models earlier than North America, but seems not this time.

Already saw 2 lady players using AT800 (OF) in club last sat. ;)

Luxis also has them now. I dunno with Inksysport but luxis do accept credit card and ship overseas. They have fast and reliable service. Your racket would arrive in excellent condition.

I think they do. Why don't you email to enquire? I would suggest you check prices elswhere first, and that includes Luxissport and others, compare their prices and then decide for yourself. It is important you get a few quotes from as many sources as you can before you buy. This way you won't end up paying more than the lowest market price.

It looks like the AT800 price in Hong Kong is being driven up by higher than expected demand. I was quoted a price of HK$1,070 just a few days ago, but it is now close to HK$1,150. Someone just ordered 50 AT800 from Inskysport at HK$1,070 each, which probably caused the price to go up. Meantime, the AT700 is not selling well inspite of its very reason price of only HK$890.

Are there any VAT or GST levy for Hongkong consumer goods?

Oh, so you, ants and another wholesale buyer are the culprits. Can you fellows spread your purchases over several weeks to cool the prices down a bit? I am looking to buying one when the price comes down to the AT700-HK$890-price range. If you fellows keep on buying in quantities now, when am I going to get mine?

Maybe, you can try to do one better. Why don't you ask if they are prepared to sell you an AT700 for HK$850? If you can get a deal at this price, I will then try to knock it down a further HK$50 later. I do know a little about supply/demand to ensure we get the best, meaning lowest, price at any point in time.

Sorry about that Taneepak. Well ants and I just love this racket so much that we cant help it :D He has 6 AT800 now and I have 2 :o I am thinking of getting one more soon as a back up. Anyway the rackets we purchase are not for commercial purpose. They are only for personal use, so I dont believe we influence the price very much

The authorised version, SP with one year warrant, sells for HK$1,150, inclusive of BG85 or BG68TI strings. The street price is $100 more.

Taneepak,

My brother is passing by HK on his way home from China so I asked him to get me a 4u AT800 OF and have them string it with BG85

(I dont think the stringers here in the Philippines know how to string them yet.)

I suppose the stores selling the rackets in mongkok will know how to string them, right? right :)

Where did he buy from and how much was it? My sister-in-law will be going there in a few days, just to get an idea of how much i'll be giving her to buy me one.
Is it SP? What bag did it come with and did it include the black velvet-cloth bag?
Thanks!

Albert,

I think he got my AT700 at Emmy's. I won't know where he will get it this time around. I instructed him to go to the street in Mong Kok where all the sporting goods stores are (immediately parallel to the Ladies Night Market) and look at the stores there. Will report when it arrives this sunday (assuming hindi tinamad ang kapatid ko)

but according to Taneepak SRP is 1150 and actual street price is 1250 so there you go.
