View Full Version : Backhand woes...

There was a time when the only kind of shot I could play in badminton was the backhand (I know its not relevant to this forum, pardon me, but I couldn't help but let u know that till today I can only play backhand in table tennis). So I would literally take every single shot using a backhand stroke...and yes it was extremely awkward (both to watch and play) and it didn't win me many games.

After practicing quite a bit, forehand entered my game. However, I find my backhand strokes have become weaker significantly. It sounds pretty weird to me, has anyone else experienced this or am I just the odd one out?

Can anyone suggest what to do to bring back my backhand strokes to the same power they used to be without affecting my forehand play? I need to find the right balance between my strokes!

Thanks!

i think u lost some timing from your backhand strokes. I think u should just practice and hit more with your backhand and sacriface a few games again like the beginning :)

Try this when you are sitting off or have some spare time try hitting against the wall with your back hand it takes time but you will soon get there try aiming for a part of the wall and try and hit it consitantly.
I hope this helps
