Queensway Shopping Centre (Gala Sports) has the above SP version (no Sunrise sticker, so you know what I mean) for below S$299 before bargain.

Only Defensive 3U/G4 available and a few available.

I do not get it. Why would anybody want to waste their money buying a fake product?

I guess what is meant is that it is a parallel import.....
but then what is the harm of telling everyone that it is a TH racket ?

i thought sunrise just implemented the sticker recently so most of the rackets selling in the market are real and not parallel import, just that they are of earlier batch.

This is what I meant, is a parallel import, as those with "sunrise" stickers are all above S$345.

It is SP version for the DE model.

I still have not seen any Singapore shop displaying fake Yonex rackets openly. The penalty is too heavy if caught.

what's the difference between TH version and SP version?

armortec800
06-06-2004, 06:38 AM
Some price diffferences, the SP version here will come with a better looking bag as shown in ants post.
While the TH version you can get will be the same as the Armortec 700, 500, 300....version.

what's the difference between TH version and SP version?

But will the TH version will perform just as well as the SP version, right? I mean, after all, both versions are made by Yonex! So, why is there such a great price difference? Or is it because of the bag we are paying extra? Could it be?

I have the JP DE version now. And the TH OF version too. Both are great performance racquets.

i think i saw an AT 800 DE here already. The seller gave me B$300 as the final price. I didn't check the serial number, or whether it was real or not. SP version if not mistaken too. =)

The Yonex did not market their products by themselves, instead through appointed regional distributors. Any Singapore shops who retail the SP version from Sunrise told me their costs is well above S$300. So some shops import from neighbouring countries which were actually exported from Singapore. And surprisingly, it is very low price.

The AT800 TH is available (without warranty) in Hong Kong for about HK$1,200 with strings. The authorised HK version of the AT800 SP (with one year warranty) is available at only HK$1,150 with strings.
Better still, you can get a modified (by yours truly) Sunny Pro 006 for less than HK$300, which plays as well as, if not better, than the AT800.

hi! i'm just curious...can you post some pics of the sunny pro? thanks!

I don't have a digital camera. Anyway, just looking at the picture is meaningless, as it cannot tell you about how good it is. If you are in Hong Kong, I can let you test it and, if required, I will modify it further to suit your playing style. It comes only with BG85 string, strung at 22/24lbs and no higher, to avoid tennis elbow problem. Or better still, if you have a friend in Hong Kong, you can ask him to contact me to arrange for a free test, without obligations. I have already sold one such modified racquet. At most I can get another 8-9 of the Sunny racquet, which is all what the importer has. Other racquets are very difficult to modify for improved performance, especially Yonex racquets like the Iso 800, Ti10, the Cab and the Amortec series.
For HK$300, you get a racquet that comes with BG85 string which plays as well as an AT800. What more do you expect?

The shop is near Mc Donald as Ants said in Lucky Plaza.
Im not sure if they sell Armortec 800. $220, not likely coz their products are expensive compared to Queensway since rental in Orchard Road is expensive. I can check how much they sell if i happen to pass by, this weekend.

Armortec 800 is new, so the SP version is around $350 cheapest from what i know.

If my eyes did not play tricks on me, yes, I saw it was $482(Not the exact price, but somewhere around there. I cannot really remember.) for a armortec 800. They might as well ask for $500, since $500 is a round figure.

S$500 dollars?! That may be the retail price. Usually they offer lower than that. Cheapest that i can get is still S$220. can't go lower than that.

The cone at the grip is also with CSC design.

I also visited Surise boutique at Far East. They sell MP100 with HK at the serial too. But all the rackets there have the Surise hologram sticker. Still selling Armortec for 450+. Crazy.
