Not long ago, I ran into my classmate who I haven't seen for a decade since college. We greeted each other and he ask me what I have been doing with my time. I said same old, same old things....work and badminton. He starts to laught at me, he said," '@!#$', how old are you 'insert my name', you still playing badminton?"

As you can see, he view badminton as a kiddie sport, or kiddie activity. I would understand that if he was raised in north america but he isn't. He grew up in brunei, isn't brunei a badminton fanatic nation? I recall reading a article or a post that the prince of brunei like badminton so much, he flews couple of professional player to his palace to play. Maybe badminton is not that big in asia because it is ludicrous to me when IBF can not generate good fund for the sport when they said over a billion people watch badminton during the olympics. Did the IBF lied? Are we in self denial?

Don't get frustrated. Your old classmate is ignorant & that's all. All you can do is to ignore him. Tell him to play golf instead.
