Pain in wrist performing backhand?

Whenever i generate power when performing a backhand, the left part (righthanded) of my wrist, forgot the name of the bone, makes a cracking sound, and afterwards, the pain starts showing up, even when i smash. Anybody know what the problem is? Or how i can correct it?

maybe you need to stretch your wrist and hand before play? Just had a few swings and couldn't hear any cracking noises :( :(
