RP1 Billion For Any Indon Athlete Winning Gold At Olympiad

Jakarta, June 17 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) has pledged to give a bonus of Rp1 billion to any Indonesian athlete who is able to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athena in Agusut.

"KONI will give a Rp1 billion reward to every athlete who is able to win a gold medal in the Olympiad. Those who win silver will get Rp500 million and bronze Rp300 million each," KONI Secretary General Djohar said.

Indonesia expects to win a gold medal from its badminton players in the event.

I am sure that Taufik and Alven / Luluk are able to get hold of the $1B. If not, I hope that they could possibly win a medal for Indonesia.

Btw it is good to hear that there are rewards for the players now. I heard that there were such handsome rewards for the players in the past. I believe that is why Indonesia badminton had slipped from it's top form in recent times
