Yes, please do provide us with info regarding the semifinal matches. It's really sad that we can't even get to watch the semifinal matches live on our local television channels.Hopefully we get to watch the finals tomorrow but I doubt that will happen. Now we can only depending on reports via news and newspapers.

Yes, I still have faith in him in the rubber set. He should play agressively if he wants to win Chen Hong coz Chen Hong's speed was superb in the second set.

I've just watched news from all the tv channels..RTM 1 n 2 broadcast yesterday's winning instead of what is happening now..It seems that RTM is lagging behind..and TV3 don't even bother to show it..looks like the heat of football fever catches on more than our local front.
But from the news shown in RTM, Chong Wei said that Chen Hong was not in his utmost performance, which explains his lost today.Congrats to CW~ ;)
Hopefully there will be a broadcast tomorrow..

Congratulations to Chong Wei.

People should not take any credit away from him as according to my dad who watched it live, he was better then Chen Hong. The line calls were close, but Chong Wei nullified Chen Hong's attacks by keeping everything tight. Chong Wei is also extremely deceptive.

Only comments bout the pair which lost to Lee W.W and Choong T.F are :
1) service fault, service fault, service fault
2) mishits, mishits, mishits
3) so far and wide they hit all the way to the back.

Other than that. Not bad!! Good game.

hhmm...about the mishits, I realize that the younger pair usually have this mishit whenever the shuttle was sent to their sidelines at their right side and both of them usually have this misunderstanding of who to get the shuttle

Congrats to Choong/Lee and Lee CW. I hope they will win the titles tomorrow. From what has happened, I don't see why not.

Hahaha Jaclyn, you have a crush on Wan Wah??? There are a few other girls as well that like him :) .

Anyway, thanks to Mirrura and Jaclyn for the updates. It would be great if you could provide the same for us poor souls tomorrow as I don't think there will be any live coverage on RTM1 or 2. I am not in Malaysia and the internet is the only way for me to get info, and also on the internet if RTM1 or 2 has coverage. Statistics of both players, both had to play a pair of chinese MS each prior to this match :p:p

LEE CHONG WEI!!!

Too bad the korean guy couldn't stay focused in Kuantan and the 'kampung' crowd!!!

Park Sung Hwan is a worthy successor to Korean Singles, he has a bright future ahead as he is only 19.

it will be interesting to see what Li YongBo decides on.

it is unlikely that Bao/Lin/Xia held back anything as their qualification spots is in question. if they played their best and still come out short of a spot in the final, then it will firstly be very worrying and secondly this tournament isn't going to help LiYB decides on anything.

haha...yea, but better don't expect too much from LCW yet. Still too early (i guess) THe Chinese men's players are not really that impressive this time but they will be able to rise in the Olympics :)

You are right Mirrura, but this win should boost his confidence. Lee CW and Hafiz does not fear anyone, and Choon Hann should take note.

hm... interesting.... the first 3 MD pairs. JR/LP are not playing. Kim/Ha are not playing. Fu/Cai lost in the early rounds.

that leaves the 4th ranked pair Choong/Lee, who are in the finals and have a chance at the winner.

that'll will be a boost to their rankings for sure and thus a boost in their seedings...

mirrura

Ok...the first set of MD had just ended. Kinda heart-thumping if you are one any side of the pair.
Msian pair won 15-13.
Actually msian pair was leading 7-0 at first but the Ina pair caught up to lead 8-7 and then Ina attacked more but still not enough to fight the msian pair, thus losing 15-13.

Hi Kwun, I was just looking at the ranking list, and I am wondering if you can answer some questions:
1. If Choong/Lee emerge victorious, does this mean they will surpass Jonas/Lars?
2. Does the Olympics make use of the latest rankings (i.e the one that will take into account the Malaysian Open) to decide the draws, or the previous ranking used to decide qualification?

If I'm not mistaken, Choong/Lee should be second in the world ranking after Malaysia Open and therefore should get the second seed in the olympics...

The four top seeds should be :
1. Paaske/Rasmussen
2. Choong/Lee
3. Fu/Cai
4. Ha/Kim

OMG people!!! I'm gone from the comp for only half a week and look what has occurred!! I had the dissapointment of hearing about Lin's, Chen's, and Xia's failures on CCTV-5 news!!!!

Good news is Zhang/Gao have a legitimate chance this tourney to take their first in a long while.

GJ to the Malaysians on home soil. Dissapoint for the entire Chinese men's team.

Did you miss me while I was gone, Wilfred??? :D :)

In the men's singles, Chong Wei won 15-3 and 15-12, as stated in the news.
And our fellow mate reported that the Malaysian doubles won 15-13 and 15-7.Do read the previous messages for clarification.

I saw the winning badminton clips at the 8pm news over RTM and TV3. It was really short, but I caught a glimpse of singles and the doubles accepting their cheques. For those who missed it can tune in to Nightline at 12 midnite, TV3. ;)

Well, if that's the case, I am guessing they might come up with a big list of people. So, if someone is not going, the next person will automatically be shifted up in seeds.
