The team tourny is coming up in a month. Many players have the choice to pick a team (as long as s/he is a member) to represent. I've been asking around, and ppl gave me different answers, as some of them pick the potential champ contender(s) to shot for the title, while others try to help out the underdog(s).
As a below average player (according to tourny lvl), and a management staff member (heck a lot of work coming up :o ), I don't think my main task this yr is to play to death. Therefore, in order to get some experience, I choose to play for the same team as last year, which is obvious a underdog in this tourny.
To do a little "survey", just wondering what's your choice, and why?

Last tourney at UW, I went to play with someone better than me. But it was obvious that we weren't going to win.
Now with the last tourney of the term coming around, I'm playing with a friend exactly my level.
I have to say, it's pretty hard for me to get someone better than me to play with me; they all play with themselves.

I would take "underdog" because I guess that I will feel much better if I win in that situation. :) (I am pretty sure if I win, I will be like "YEAH!":D)
But if I am in the "play for champ", and if I lost, I will feel really bad about it....
Never have too much of expectations is what I have in mind....
Aside from "champ contender," and "underdog," is there also non-threat?
I think that underdog is much more preferred than champ contender, because there is no pressure on you to win the whole thing.

I think same as last year, there are 8 teams. Including myself, many local players qualified to represent 3-4 teams, as long as s/he is a member of that club/team. Therefore, everyone just take a bit time, and pick his/her own favorite choice.
Talking about my "underdog" team, I really don't think we even have a slim chance to even go to the final. I am not saying we are all bad, as actually we are quite average even decent players. However, we lack of "the one", which means elite type tourny players. Therefore, if u count the overall club skill lvl, we might have much higher ranking. But if u want to pick the best ones to form a team, we are the true "under dog".
