i have honestly never tried a wilson racquet and most likely won't, but i have at500 and i can't imagine a wilson racquet delivering better performance

Some of the Wilson rackets are well liked by people who own them, for example Wilson titanium 5.0 and Wilson hyper carbon 5.0. Unless you have tried both a Yonex racket and a Wilson racket, I don't think anyone can make a valid judgement, can they? I went to a local store to check out the new Wilson Vision V4 rackets. Didn't like them.

i have a wilson titanium 5.0...............it was good when it came out, but after playing with tisp sx and other rackets, i have to say that wilson isnt as good as other brands such as yonex or victor, who are more focused on badminton. Wilson is focused on tennis, making it a less-than-par badminton racket manufacturer. My opinion only ;)

Well, I won't even compare it to my tisp sx, but compared to my low end 30 dollar Victor raquet, I say that it lacks tremendously in power. I can barely do a 3/4 clear from the back end of my court. I suspect that the tension is around 18 lbs, but even the low tension does not provide the power. And because of this tension, there is no control absolutely whatsoever. The only compliment i can give it is that it is suprisingly durable ( lost my grip on a smash, bounced on the floor, smacked against the metal pole and cluttered to the ground with minor scratches :p), and it is very light. Oh yes, and wilson provides you with a good grip to start with, a spongy "cushion" grip :).

P.s. I also tried my friend's "agressor" racket, which looks exactly the same as mine, and the feelings pretty much the same.

P.p.s. My racket is an old model, so maybe wilson has improved over the years, but i doubt it can catch up to the standards of yonex, victor etc. etc.

it sounds to be there are two problems:

no control : bad string. tension 18lbs is ok. but a bit bouncy.

no power : cannot clear 3/4 court. to be honest, if you give me a steel racket with 15lbs string, i wont' have any trouble clearing baseline<->baseline, nor would i have any trouble with a top end racket either. i think the problem here is not the racket but your skill level. if you cannot clear with a wilson, you probably won't fare much better with another one.
