Hi everyone. I've been playing badminton since November last year and now I want to get my own racquet. I've been borrowing my dad's 'till now. I was wondering what the flex of a racquet does and what the flex of mine is. I have a Yonex Carbonex-20.

Also I'm thinking of getting a Yonex Isometric 30-VF but I also tried a Yonex Isometric 53MF. Both feel about the same to me so I can't decide wich would be better. If anyone has one can they tell me how it's like?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and to the sport. My advice to you is to keep the Cab-20 (it is one of the best racquets around regardless of the new technologies around).

The flex of a racquet pertains to the control vs power equation. A stiffer flex racquet in theory do not bend as much as a flexible one and thus provide better control whereas a flexible one by bending more will spring back and provide more power (like a bow being pulled).
