Arn't wristbands for your wrist? And headbands for your head??

How come Gong Zhichao wears it on her elbow? Does it maybe improve some sort of aspect in her shots??

Must be fasion, either that or she is wearing a bandage or using it to cover one of those tennis elbow supports or a very bad tattoo

i think that's an elbow support. for prevention of injuries or for support after an injury.

the wrist band that you normally see are for absorbing sweat. totally different function!

You also never see a sweatband over a joint, either on the wrist or below the elbow joint as it would be too narrow to cover the bicep.

Agree with Kwun, it's a support.

Actually Dill, they do make armbands that fits the bicep section. It is commonly used by basketball players (NBA) and probably both for sweat and fashion. It is made of the same material (absorbent cotton) as wristbands and headbands.

I actually use one, and I can wear it anywear from around my forearm, to the elbow, to the arm (bicep). It helps a little for support and to keep my arm warm. I'll include a picture when I can.

i think its a support that provides compressive support to the elbow... it looks like its not of the absorbent type, more of the elastic type that would provide compression to the joint, the elbow in this case.

The highest ive seen a real wristband being worn is way up the forearm, almost reaching the elbow, but never covering the elbow joint itself.

The really long, almost armband looking thingee that nba players, (i think u mean the one allen iverson wears), are not for fashion i think. most would provide some kind of support to a battered or rehabbing joint. http://allen-iverson.iwarp.com/cgi-bin/i/iverson2.jpg

the most fashion oriented accessory that comes on the arm would be them rubbery plastic wrist namebands... the ones that are almost like bracelets. now those dont provide any kind of sweat absorption or support at all.

well carlol, just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It is called an armband for a reason, because you use it on your arm, not your wrist; it is bigger and like I said- fits forearm all the way up to the bicep.

Here is a link to a nike version:

Here is a pic of mine for reference:

(2 wristband on the left, 1 head band, 1 armband on the right)
