As reported in our local newspaper yesterday, Wang Chen has been diagnosed as having an overactive thyroid. i.e. hyperthyroidism.
She has to take medication to control the symptoms and this may affect her performance in a very important tournament coming up soon.

China shouldn't worry about their chances to get the medal...GONG RUINA all the way...with that said i'm not heartless...that really sucks...but it'd be real cool if she won and proved herself no worse...

I see Wang Chen every day, as I train in the same training center as she does. She's still training and looks fine for Athens. She's extremely nice and deserves the Olympic gold medal!

She can try a good fix though - sea salt rich in iodine.
So more seafood then...
It's an old wive's tale but I don't know how true it is but I do know the cases of hyperthyroidism is quite rare amongst communities who consume lots of seafood.

Playing Tony was hilarious because he went easy on me the whole time, it was a game of singles, i got 4 and 4 ..... he dazzled me with his net play, tremendous .....

Wang Chen seems to have had a bit of a makeover, for better or worse you decide ;)
seems to have lost some weight. but the same watch and wrist band...
her thyroid problem hasn't show any effect on her.....
