Toastie 10-01-2004, 10:26 AM Hi,
more important (at least for me):
Marc ZWIEBLER - Dicky PALYAMA 15-8 15-12
Zwiebler is in good shape right now, winning against German No.2 Jens Roch (WR 41) and Dicky Palyama (WR 19). By The way, his World Ranking is currently 112. Maybe Jonassen/Kaldau is next.
MFG

Tony Gunawan and Howard Back are through easily 15-10 15-3 against Claes/Mawet...
Kenneth Jonassen is leading 12-5 against Niels Kaldau and Pernille Harder/Helle Nielsen seem to be having an easy job against Carola (Kournikova?) Bott/Karin Schnaase 10-2 in the first game...

Tony & HOward are meeting the pair they beat in the US OPen recently 2 straight sets. Hopefully they will repeat the same performance and go all the way. G O T O N Y G O H O W A R D !!!!!!
ctjcad 10-01-2004, 08:44 PM if both of them are healthy, I believe they will win the Dutch Open's Men's Double title(as this is a 1 star tournament like the US Open). The big test will come next week, when they travel to Denmark for the Denmark Open. Will they have enough energy and gas left in the tank?? Are they traveling to Germany in 2 more weeks for the German Open??..And when they come back to the U.S., will they be healthy and fortunate without any injury. I know Tony wants to qualify to play for the World Championship next year..Let's hope for the best..

Congratulations Tony & Howard !!!!!
Go have some rest coz the real test will come next week at the Denmark Open, 5 star event !!!! We all hope you will do well as well to prove yourself that your partnership is someone they will have to deal with if not fear to.
jug8man 10-03-2004, 09:59 AM was watching MD finals with a friend. he pointed out to me that most of the US points came when Tony served and that Bach's service was easier to tap and often put him and his partner in compromising positions.
but they won anyway :)

but im sure Bach would like to think otherwise :D
at least he's bringing something to the table when he's at the back :)
and at least he's a lot better than that Malaythong guy i saw him pertnering in the Thomas cup

my statement still hold tho.
Laybourn 10-05-2004, 04:37 AM I must agree on what Cooler says that Gunawan is the best of them, and that he is the one who wins the most points for them. I played Howard 2 times before when he played together with Kevin Han, and i won the matches easilly. Tony is very good at the moment, he is probally one of the best in wolrd on the net, it is very difficult to get the ball "away" from him, and when you do Howard is very quick to get the next ball to keep the pressure.
the ones who saw the game maybe noticed that me and Peter were playing good until 7-7 in both sets, when Tony "wins" 4-5 point on his serve. That is really worldclass!!! We were very frustrated with this and couldn´t get back in the game. And i must also say that it was me and Peter´s 8th game in 4 days on a hard floor, so our legs were maybe a little tirred, so we didn´t had the same speed as in the semi´s, were we played one of our best games ever.
Well i big congrats to Tony and Howard for there 2 wins in a row, i hope i will get a new match against them soon...
Thomas
