Anyone knows any good stringer who uses Yonex official stringing pattern in Bay Area?

Why do you specifically need one that uses an Official Yonex String pattern?

Because they look nice~~~~~:crying:

When do you ever tell yourself during a match, wow my strings look nice? Doesn't the stringing quality count? If there is a better pattern than the Official Yonex one then why not just go with that? It's about performance, not looks.

There are just too many people here just care about the looks. Not only strings but rackets. ;)

Bluejeff, did you string this racquet??? Because this is the way I want my racquets to be strung... (22 cross strings)

Well, Yeah, but I prefer 23 cross strings as for the larger sweet spot. :)
I don't do 22 anymore.

However, I know there are still tons of stringers out there do the 22, but it's just not my style :) (but if someone ask me to do it that way, I have no problem with that ;) )

I actually didn't like Asby that much when I stopped by to ask them a few questions about string tension. They were hard to get answers from ... kinda like pulling teeth. :(

The stringer there is cute. ;)They strung one of my racquets in the summer. There was a guy around 18 that strung mine, and he did 23 cross strings... I told him to string it at 25/23 lbs, but i think he strung it at 22/20 lbs...:crying:

Never seen a cute lady there... only see a mid-age dude with glasses...

Did they string your racquet with 22 cross strings?

Ok so here's the story. The guy ^^^^ you mentioned quoted me 4pm pickup time the same day. So I chilled at my buddy's place till 3pm in Mtn View. I drove over there but it was still early so I decided to take a nap. I woke up at 450 and walked in. There she was ... working on my second racket. She was working so fast I couldn't see her hands. It was so interesting to watch the racket being strung, but she was so cute I couldn't decide which one to stare at.

She did 21 cross strings at 22 lbs (I asked for 22 lbs, but didn't specify how many cross strings--I didn't care).

21 cross strings??? How? With the method of "skip the 2nd to the last"???

21 cross strings??? How? With the method of "skip the 2nd to the last"???21 cross strings is the official Yonex's recommendations (as seen in the AT800 string pattern)

Badmintonalley does not do "skip the 2nd to the last", Bintang does. What's good about it??? It looks ugly to me though...

Wait, what racquet is yours? If it's AT800, if there should be 21 cross. If it's for non-AT800, then there should be 22 cross.

They're AT800s. The rackets even came with a diagram on how to string them.

Oh i see, I was thinking about the non-At800 yonex rackets. :p

IMO, Asby is better than badmintonalley (cute girl notwithstanding :D ). But if you go to Asby, make sure Alan gets it strung for you. He is much better than the other young guy working there, and was also the official US stringer for some US Opens (whatever that means). Asby has recently updated their site, but here's an old link to see what he looks like.

Yes, Asby is better, but do expect to pay more. :)

Price: Asby > Alley > Bintang
Quality: Asby > Alley > Bintang (just my opinion)

I called Asby a while back and they quoted me 18-25 bux for stringing. Alley charged $15.

According to the conversation with Phu, he says the skip could lower the vibration. BTW, they could do "no skip" stringing if you ask so.

Asby: $18 - $25 including String??? Or just labor??? If it is just labor, why don't they just set one price???

Badmintonalley: $15 just labor???

Will they use Yonex pattern if I ask them to? Because even if they use 22 cross, I notice that something is different on the 2 o'clock.

I dunno about Asby but at the Alley it was $15 labor only.

Is that a lot?

I thought it was a good deal considering it took her about an hour to string both rackets. $30/hr for shop rate is an excellent price. I'm used to seeing $70/hr and higher for shop rates ...

Asby $18-$25 includes string...better string...higher price. They used to also have a string warranty thing where if you string your racket below 23lbs and your string breaks within 30day  (i think. not too sure anymore) they restring it for you. Once you string over 23lbs they warranty is void.

They used to also have a string warranty thing where if you string your racket below 23lbs and your string breaks within 30day.

Personally, I think 30 days are too long for warranty. I know several local player, who string racket (usually BG65 or BG65Ti) around 22-24 lb range, and their string never survive for even more than 3 weeks. Of course, they play a lot. I believe that's surely more than 15+ hrs a week.

Therefore, if such players suddenly fell into love with thin strings like BG66 and BG85, I doubt even 10 days will be too long for them. ;)

Asby has the best strining in the bay area...and does it really matter that much about how many crosses you have ..i always thought it was just about the tension.....sometiems even tension doesnt matter..if your good you can still beat people with it...
