In looking at all the fake Armortec 800's out there, especially on ebay, I haven't found any that seem to have the extra grommets at 1:30 and 10:30. I also haven't seen any mention of this after searching threads in this forum. There are all kinds of comparisons about paint schemes and serial numbers and fonts, but the one key to identifying a fake has been the x-ray of the t-joint. Has anyone seen a definitely fake AT-800 that had the extra grommets at 1:30 and 10:30?

If not, maybe that could be used as a good test for those of us who don't have an x-ray machine in the closet.

I saw some Yonex web site that had diagrams showing stringing patterns, and they had one for Armotec rackets and one for all other Yonex rackets. I guess this is because of the extra holes. I don't know about performance, but they certainly making stringing a little easier. :)

If fakes had the extra holes but not the Armotec frame, they would not be as strong.

Plus, Yonex don't seem to advertise the extra holes as a big marketing point so a lot of people don't even know to look for them.

Yes, I pointed that out already in another topic in the Market Place forum.

None of the fake AT 800 I've come across so far has the extra grommet holes so the main strings at the side are not perpendicular to the cross strings.

Problem with most fakers is that they can just copy and paste a picture from Yonex's website and give you the fake one. :(
