Do pros use different rackets for singles and doubles? The only player that comes to my mind at the moment is Mia Audina. Does she have two different rackets for both categories?

Lobber 11-07-2004, 11:12 AM most do.Since certain racket is ment for certain play. For example, At800 is for double play and MP100 is for single Benasp 11-07-2004, 06:51 PM I think that if you feel well with a racquet you don't need to change i mean the racquet is like 1% of the game Faisal 11-08-2004, 12:48 AM I think that if you feel well with a racquet you don't need to change i mean the racquet is like 1% of the game yeah... thats what I feel too. I have one racket for both. That's why I wanted some names of pros who use different rackets for each of the events. Just to see whether it really makes a difference. LazyBuddy 11-08-2004, 09:38 AM Pros change between rackets due to many other reasons as well, not just for single vs double: 1. Under contract, need to promote new models (prefer early round) 2. Against different type of players, some pros just switch to a different racket (the one with more confidence???) in the 2nd set 3. I have two rackets that I swap between, my Monsoon 5000 which is extremely head heavy and made for whacking it. Along with my Rasmussen Tour which is a more balanced racket, though still very powerful. My Monsoon 5000 just isn’t accurate enough for singles, it doesn’t give me the confidence that my shot is going to be out of my opponents reach and I’d rather win singles by moving my opponent out the way, so I swap to my Rasmussen Tour for singles. In doubles however I’m happy to take the approach that a few well hit smashes from the Monsoon 5000 will break my opponents defences down enough for myself or my partner to score. |
