Anyone know what a full carbon fibre racket would be like? Or even if it's possible? Just a thought.

Even full carbon fibre racquets need a binder like some sort of resin (epoxy) to hold it together and to impart strength. Despite what manufacturers say about their racquets being carbon, mesh, Ti, Aermet, etc., these are just minor composites raw materials. The major raw material in racquets is a resin. Without this, the carbon fibre, Ti, Aermet and what have you will all fall apart. :D cyal8r 11-09-2004, 02:13 AM You learn something every day. Though my knowledge is limited I'm thinking about the same material refered to in F1, racing cars really light and super strong mostly used for body shells, rear wings. maybe it's too expensive? taneepak 11-09-2004, 04:23 AM You learn something every day. Formula 1 cars use carbon fibre. Gosen badminton racquets have aermet-just a very small part-which they claim are used in Formula 1 cars. Again, the exotic carbon fibre used in Formula 1 cars will be utterly useless without the resin. :D |
