Hello

I currently play with yonex AT500(3U G3) which I love and really suits me, however I need to buy a second racket as a spare because I am starting to play matches and don't want to get stuck without a spare if I break a string!

My big problem is that I am a poor student and money is a precious commodity. I would love to buy a spare AT500 but that just isn't going to happen!

Can you suggest a similar racket but for £40 ($75 us) or less? I would prefer another yonex but I am open minded to other makes (especially as they are cheaper).

Thanks

Yonex Isometric 75MF Light. It's about that price range although it's a standard size shaft, but with proper skill it'll work the same as AT-500

Always the same thing..... If you wanna get a cheap but still good racket, dont even think about yonex. I would recommend that you buy Carlton from ebay, comido_de. I just got Carlton powerblade superlite with 30 £, Carlton powerblade tour with 40 £ and Carlton airblade AS-Ti with 40£. All of these rackets costs normally over 100£ or 150£......:)

Yonex MP 22 or Inflight XP 50 they are both cheap and have ample power.

Maybe one of these two, although I think they might be more similar to the mp99 and at800 than the at500

That's a headlight racket, with very flexible shaft. AT500 is head heavy and stiff..so you might notice a significant difference.

Do you know of any rackets in my price range (below £50 ($75 us)) that are head heavy like the AT500 3u G3? All of the rackets that I have seen are balanced and I would assume play quite differently to the AT500.

Winex Armanetic 700 is £54. Based on the Yonex AT700. Check out http://www.winexdirect.com

The AT500 is 74 GBP at www.centralsports.co.uk (in Coventry)

If you really, really like the AT500
It would probably be better to save up another £24 and get a second AT500 than try to find something a bit similar.

also above his quoted price range
winex is a good choice, otherwise buy the same racquet...save up by drinking a little less or something:)
