Indeed! I'm going crazy over the difficulty of obtaining results for this tournament. I still haven't managed to download the Excel file with yesterday's results... it keeps getting stuck at 67%...  :crying:
With many Chinese readers here at BF, one have thought we'd have better coverage!

Gong weijie vs gade could be intresting tomorrow. Suprising that Xia lost (was he too slow?!)
ill, or injured?
ill, with the flu apparently.
it also means there are zero malaysian MS players left in the China Open.

That's insanely quick... that's like no rallies at all. Serve, receive, 3rd hit, finished *LOL*. Would have been a good match to showcase the difference between veteran world class and jr.!

Geez in mixed doubles, Jens Erikson & Mette Schjoldager of Denmark beat Yan/Wong of Hong Kong in 12 minutes! And Kim Yong Hyun & Lee Hyo Jung of Korea beat the Philipines Asuncion twins in 15 minutes! Sheesh that's crazy quick. Are they playing to 15 or 11 points in mixed doubles?
timeless

Alright this is just nuts how fast some of these round of 32 matches are... Li Chen of China beat Kennie Asuncion of the Philipines 11-0, 11-2, in 10 minutes! Who says WS was slow?! hahaha~ :D Go for a quick washroom break, and you miss an entire match by the time you get back! For poor Kennie Asuncion, who played both mixed & singles, her entire tournament was over in 25 minutes total. She most likely took longer to warm up than that :crying:.
Something humorous just struck me... with the times of some of these matches, our resident tournament DVD supplier, Han, could fit a third of the entire round of 32 onto a single disc *LOL* :p :D.
according to Chinese media interview with Chen Jin, Xia was said to have ran out of gas during the second game. Chen Jin says they are usually 50/50 in internal matches and he says it is easier to play against teammates as they know each other's game better. he was less confident against opponent from a different country citing that he is less experienced.

Wow that's really interesting stuff... 50/50 usually?! Chen Jin is indeed awesome. I wonder what his win/lose percentage is vs. Lin Dan, Bao Chun Lai, and Chen Hong.

Whats really amazing about professionals is their ability to focus and not let down. I always tend to relax or slow down after having such a big lead or playing against weaker players. I guess this is what allows them to win in like 10, 12,15 minutes.

you shouldn't let prejudice against lin dan cloud your mind. i think lin dan shows great amount of talent.
whoa, ponsana must be of some substance, huh? but i think i'll be equally happy with the winner :)
xia's loss sure is saddening. i was banking on seeing him on astro in the finals.
